As always, I'm Dan from The New Travel. Thanks for watching!
I’ve found Mexican people to be very kind, hard working good people...also very loyal to their families..such good qualities..
DJ NL3 that’s one long ass sentence with no periods lol.
Thank you
@DJ NL3 first of all, just wanna note that your comment seems pretty irrelevant to any topic here, but im sure youre already aware of that.
Then i want to say, how can you actually say that this wasn't Native American land?
14000 or so years, before the beginning of culture really, isnt enough for you? Being the first people to inhabit it, isnt enough for you? Idk what is then.
Going by your thinking, the "land land" of any of us is actually Africa and we cant say any other place is our place. Come on man, people have to stop trying to manipulate information for their own agendas
Oh and by the way, MANY Spanish women came with their men. Irrelevant but true
beginning in 1700s.
also want to say this video is just as biased as anyone who wants to say mexico is bad.
are we really so freaking dumb?
cant figure out there are peaceloving people and shitty ass people on every place on earth?
truth be told, im scared of the situation in mexico because people cant even trust their own police. scary.
yes, kidnappings and disappearances are super common. I love it here but you have to be careful with the drug dealers and the police (usually the same guys)
Thank you for some honesty. The reality is that Mexico is more dangerous than most countries.
😠
Yeah the whole damn country is cartels, my pastor and a few missionaries were going to Mexico and maybe 30 miles into Mexico they got their car taken and all of their belongings robbed
@@donttreadonme4355 that's because the idiots decided to drive to Mexico instead of fly.

they kept trying to scam people for money and fight me for taking their women 😂

The government and police cannot do anything and won't do anything. I fear for my family every time they travel to Mexico, I no longer visit.

So in your mind everything negative is the truth and the positives are false? Just like in the video at the end, this is to highlight the positive aspects that do exists, its not about hiding anything.
I just spent two months in that beautiful country, travelled far and wide and had nothing but positive experiences. The food, the scenery, the cities are great for sure BUT THE PEOPLE!!!!
The people are what make Mexico so exceptional. Viva Mexico.
Amen.
Thank you for this beautiful video. I am an American who lives full time in Mexico, and I feel just as safe here , if not safer , than living in many cities in the US. I have found Mexico to be filled with very welcoming , warm , accepting and genuinely gentle loving people. When I travel back to the US and someone hears I live in MX , I find the ones who are first to “warn” me how dangerous it is , are the ones who have never even BEEN to Mexico. Thanks Dan for making this video ❤️
That's great, David. So true that most of the fear talk you hear is from people who have never even visited the country!
Bold face lie

If only the rest of the million+ Americans and Canadians living in Mexico expressed their opinions like you did. Not that we need it. But it would just be a nice thing to do.

Yes, I live in the the United States and its horribly dangerous too. Tourists have died in Miami as well as in Acapulco. You run the risks of getting robbed or worse in Detroit, Michigan USA as well as in Mexico City. Stay in the safe areas and you'll be safe in any part of the world. If you want to sing 'kumba ya' that's your problem. There are bad people everywhere hence prisons in every country. Mexico is full of culture explore it and add to it...

Mexico is a gorgeous country with welcoming people.I loved being there and I feel blessed I could live and work there for three years, more people need to see this video. Thanks for showing this to the world!
You spent 3 years down here? Wow, I had no idea!! Whereabouts were you based? 🙂
Mainly in San-Luis Potosi :) I lived for about 4 months in Mexico city as well in colonia doctores.
Journal of Nomads lol, las doctores is the worst.
Hahaha well that's what everyone was saying while I was there and people were like you should find a better colonia this one is too dangerous! :D but I never had any problem in las doctores.I had the nicest neighbors ever.
Journal of Nomads the nice think is: the countries around it (mexico included) do have the largest killrate worldwide xD
I 'm from Morocco i love Mexican people 😍
Thanks!!
We love Mexico and the people! We just came back from Cancun and felt very safe.
Because Cancun is primarily for tourists and heavily guarded. Go anywhere outside and you’ll probably see different results
@@TheJames1579 Wrong. Your stereotypical thoughts are so ignorant.
OH ! Would that be the SAME Cancun where people are gunned down with LONG GUNS on the Beach?? America has crime , but in Mexico , the CARTELS dictate to the government how things will be . Thank you ever so much Dan, for the info you shared in this video. I really was needing to hear this perspective. THANKS AGAIN.
Weird because when I went to Mexico, my friends, who are Mexican, cried out of panic when i had left their sight for just a few minutes. They scolded me when i returned, and told me never to do it again, because i could be kidnapped.
how old were you?? i’m visiting mexico in a few weeks and i’m scared to get kidnap

Thanks for such a cool video. I love the interviews, insight and the 'other side' of the story. You have no idea how much people's faces change when I tell them that I am travelling to Mexico. It is almost like they reflect fear, panic, terror just by hearing the name of the country. Good and bad people are everywhere. I walked out of my hostel in MX City around 3am. I felt pretty safe. I loved it there. So many things to do and see. I had so much fun there. Great Video! Me da un chingo de sentimiento ver que hagan este tipo de videos sobre México. Tenemos que ser mas los que hablemos así sobre este país tan hermoso. 👏🏽🇲🇽
Thank you so much Dan for making this. It makes me really happy to see how you show the good side of mexico which isnt showed enough but still keep it real since like any other place there's always some type of danger. Im mexican but grew up in the us and im going back to mexico in a couple of weeks so your videos help me out a LOT
I like the song at the end. Dan, this was a great video!! I need to show this to my dad and husband. Like you said, there's a good side and bad side. You can say the same about any country, but the media only focuses on the bad when it comes to Mexico. You can see in all the interviews how modern Mexico City is. Very different from what people expect.
You would seriously love it down here Ashley. Mexico City might be my new favourite city
The New Travel Oh really?? 👀 How long are you staying? Maybe I'll fly (or drive? Hahaha) down there and we could meet up.
OK driving is no go 😂 apparently there aren't enough superchargers in Mexico to get me to Mexico City. But I could fly in March after this conference I'm going to in New York. Lemme know if you're down!

I can't thank you enough for these videos about Mexico! Bravo!!!!!
I just got back from Mexico. Loved it!
*What's something people say about Mexico that you think is untrue?*
The New Travel ... most of the world think Mexicans are, short, brown, panzones y bigotudos.. dirt streets, and the way of transport?, a donkey!.. also, what's with the siesta thing!?
I would like to say that the drug problem is not Mexico's blame, the main reason is the drug consumption that exists in US, if the US people (gringos) wouldn't consum drugs the narco violence problem wouldn't exist in Mexico and Latin America. So bloody Trump don't blame Mexico about drugs!! Your wall issue has no reason! Moreover the Mexicans are only reconquering the lands that were stolen by the US!! We own those lands since and forever!!
Viva Mexico cabrones!!
That mexicans are not racist

Maybe you should do a video along the border start in Matamoros Tm ,Raynosa,Tm Nuevo lorado....ect
You went to a tourist area!
Well it's dangerous if you mess with the wrong people and go to wrong places or draw attention with fancy stuff askin for a kidnappin
exactly
But where are the wrong places
Uncrowded places, like alleys. Touristic places have a lot of police officers, as long as you are not a drug dealer you're pretty much okay.

I used to be a tourist guide in Mexico City and Morelia, the Europeans were always enjoying my country, the history, precolombian, colonial and modern, they enjoyed the food, and like to be friends with the people, but it was the Americans (though we are américans too), that would show fear of . nothing, but fear... I asked a couple from Oregon, why were they like that,. They said, 'because of what we've heard in the news"... There's something about americans that leads them to exaggerate the negative about Mexico, when the Truth is, their country is way more violent and racist than us.. perhaps we should start talking negative about them, and create a super negative image of them.. BUT,.. thank God we are NOT like some of them!!!
El mejor comentario.
would i be able to go outside the resort and be safe?
Damian Blue yes
Damian Blue of course!!!.. good Lord,.. what a foolish question! Why do you think Mexico is one of the most visited nations in the world...
tell that to my cousin who was kidnapped and extorted. I use to go to Morelia and San Luis but it's not safe anymore. Mexicans won't ever admit they have a problem because make money from tourism and because they are prideful. So many innocent people have lost their lives and almost all cases go cold
Probably depends on where you go in Mexico, just like anywhere else. Same here in California.
I love this, thank you for sharing this to the world and striking down common misconceptions :)

I felt in love with your channel and the way you see my country... Thank you for representing with your own perspective how Mexico is... We are not like the number one country in the world without crimes or bad stuff, but, like in every other country there's a bad side. I'm pretty confident that you found out how Mexicans are.
Whenever you want to visit another city here in Mexico you'll be always welcomed to Ciudad Juárez Chihuahua... Here is another damaged city due the insecurity... But as soon as it stops ( the insecurity) it came up from the ashes. So you could do more videos about the "mexican" perspective. I'll be glad to help you out with that. Cheers bud
Hey zurdo, do you live in Ciudad Juarez? I've heard there is a very high crime rate. I'd be interested to know your perspective as someone from there. Feel free to message my facebook page The New Travel or email media@thenewtravelblog dot com if you want to chat :)

Congratulations for these video. I love my contry so I appreciate when people like you shows a good perspective and not just the negative part. As a girl in this video said... "we are more the good ones". Proud to be mexican and I hope that people could have the opportunity tu visit our country.
Hey Dan, despite some warnings from our parents, friends etc, my group of friends and I bought our tickets to mexico city for october 2018. We have a good idea of what we want to visit. Do you have any things you would suggest we avoid ? Either security wise or just because they're not worth it. We're all 20 years old. Cheers!
Avoid the metro unless you absolutely have to. I made a video about the mexico city metro you could watch for some tips. But basically, there are a lot of pickpockets there. Also I recommend Uber over taxis if you can use your phone down here, as some bad taxis might try to overcharge. If you take a taxi, make sure the meter is running so they don't name an unfair price at the end. Enjoy your trip, it's a great city!
I love that you are in this country, you are very welcome always ❤️
Thanks Sharon :)

Another great video. I distinctly remember walking in the beautiful La Zona Rosa with my Mexican father in law and we were discussing First World and Third World. Mexico City is definitely a First World city to live both economically and culturally. I felt very proud to have been connected to my Mexican family. I am thoroughly enjoying your many videos of Mexico City. I travelled the FULL length of the Americas from the top of Alaska and Yukon, Inuvik to be precise all the way through the Americas to the bottom of South America in Tierra del Fuego for three years. The pleasure is mine. Thank you, Carlos
This year 800,000 people are expected to travel to Mexico, from Toronto alone. People from Canada and US are moving to Mexico by the thousands. So, it`s getting harder to deceive outsiders into believing that all of Mexico is dangerous. Mexico City is like a large US city, where a person is OK as long as they don`t go into dangerous districts. I am in Merida, Yucatan which is a large city but is safer than any large US city.
Nick, there are many safe, beautiful areas of Mexico that aren`t tourist areas. Of course, while "the War on Drugs" is going on, you need to check which areas are safe before you travel. For Merida, tourism is not the
largest part of the economy. It is a major city with some tourism. It also is the safest area of Mexico, in the safest state in Mexico (Yucatan). It seems some US interests want to frighten tourists from coming to Mexico, but there are many beautiful colonial cities that are safe even though they`re not big tourist draws.
Paul Beet 4 million white Americans living in Mexico lol yet they say that the USA is some kind if utopia. If it is why are they moving to Mexico?
I for one, am tired of the irresponsible spending of Congress. The corruption, secret gov organizations, and slow loss of freedoms of US Citizens. I have just a few more years then I'm out!
Lar Mar I feel that 100%.. my fiancé and I will be moving there in the next couple years ourselves after we’re married. Can’t wait!
I’m scared af cause I’m going to a little town in Durango. Hopefully I don’t get kidnapped.

With every video you make I want to just jump on a plane and visit Mexico City. And this was a great topic very well covered by speaking to locals.
Jump! Jump! Jump!
just be aware that the true is that there's a lot of insecurity and violence, respondents tried to focus in some positive aspects, but if you listen to the news you'll see the real situation, and perhaps real situation is even worse
Evelyne at CulturEatz before you come to Mexico city, made your own research of what places to visit but do it by searching with locals trough the social net work to make it nice worth it, less expensive and easy, because to get to know Mexico city you ned about 3 months at least

Très intéressant. Je suis allé quatre fois dans cette vielle merveilleuse et j'y retourne en mars. On est prudent comme partout dans une grande ville et on découvre des merveilles, une ville à la culture et à l'histoire incomparables!
@Anti-republican brazilian. Long live the Empire of Brazil!
I temporarily lived there for some years and after a while I saw a lot of violence, people getting stabbed in the middle of the street, shootings, hangings and hearing about people getting dismembered and police not do anything about it
love this vid 🖤 it's true, danger is everywhere, don't base your judgement through media, see for your self. I'm from Philippines, they say Filipinos are kind and hospitable, well not everyone, but just as he said we don't need to focus on the bad things. 🧡
Im from Mexico, and your videos are really cool
Careful at certain particular places at nights, but maybe that's common sense? If you see a very empty dark street just don't go there :p
Great video thank you!🙂
I'm not listens to the media at all, but I see the video that people in Mexico filmed what happened there
I live in Mexico and my father was from NYC and I can say that it's more probably die violently in the USA just because a madman decided to take a gun and start a shootout. If you aren't in the criminal world you can come to Mexico without problem
THATS RIGHT! :D
What about the more dangerous parts run by the cartels
Alexander Gapour I don't know why you would go there. It's like going to the most dangerous hood in L.A. and not go to the Hollywood sign. If don't mess with dangerous people ( in any country) you don't have to have problems.
I'm from Mexico and watch your videos
Thanks Temoc :)
Thank you Dan!! I have always been very curious about Mexico!! Friendly people..delicious food... I hope I can travel to Mexico one day!!!☺️✌️
It's easy to ask this when you're in one of the richest parts of the country. Try going to other parts of Mexico, the real Mexico, and you'll see how dangerous it is.
I WOULD DEFINITELY LIVE IN MEXICO.
Ritchie Navarro as a Mexican citizen and born, you’d live scared. Mexico City as the show in the vid is like a different country because the rest of the country on many places like Sinaloa, or ciudad Juárez and TJ are horrifying. Many people die per day due to homocide.

It's not really only about what to FOCUS on. It's not one or the other. It's about maturity, knowing both and knowing how to avoid and protect oneself, whilst not over worrying. Not just choosing what to focus on or not. For example, which areas are these kidnappings happening, only at night or even in the day? Near tourist areas, or bars, or what. How to identify these people, what do locals do to stay aware and safe. Etc. It's about having awareness, knowledge and skills. Not just stopping at seeking to vindicate a countries perceived image of light or dark.
OUTSTANDING JOB BY EVERYONE!!! KEEP THESE VIDS COMING. WANTING TO LIVE IN MEXICO.....SO YOUR VIDS ARE VERY HELPFUL. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!
