To write songs that rock is one thing, To have songs with meaning is quite another. But to change all that up and creatively reformat and rearrange the song in a positive way, that is mastery. This band is nothing short of incredible and always has been.

Myles is an amazing guitarist. one of my favorite things about this vid (other than myles' shining vocals) is that solo work.
Just found this band. It does not get any better than this, perfect song structure, perfect sound, unbelievable talent. Thank god bands like this still exist today.

nobody with a voice like that does drugs...very under accomplished singer....he has a flawless set vocal chords...not very common in the music world nowadays...amazing band....shame there cant be more with the same caliber of talent

How were these guys not at the absolute top of the charts with a song like this! It is really very near the top in terms of lyrical content, depth and musicality! You want to make a cutscene in a movie memorable, add this in there!
Myles is absolutely gifted! His range is amazing and he really shows his ability to switch the key of his voice in the acoustic setting! His voice actually inspires me in conjuction with what he is saying with his lyrics! I love when Alter Bridge do this!
i guess thats just how mark processes song structure in his head, because he wrote all of the music for their first cd then collaborated with myles for Blackbird. also, mark wrote all of the music for creed and scott just put words to it.

I agree. Myles is an amazing guitarist. He is just overshadowed by Mark. I love this band and I have since the day they were announced. Myles and Mark make a perfect couple and they are absolutely amazing live. Myles is just so unnaturally talented with his vocals and his guitar playing, especially at the same time. Myles and Brent Smith from Shinedown are definitely my favorite vocalists of all time.

I find that he is one of the few artists who sounds wonderful when playing/singing acoustic. some artists sound COMPLETELY different when they sing live

Buried Alive is about someone with an addiction who feels like they are at rock bottom and cannot turn their life around and Brand New Start is about believing it's possible and making a new start and life. I don't know about Myles being a drug addict, the songs him and Mark (Tremonti) write are from the heart and sometimes they are about personal experience but all I know is, Myles is a very healthy person now and is a very humble human being.

Sorry for posting again, but does it seem to anybody else that Myles just hits these notes with almost no effort. Hell, to hit the high notes he doesn't even pull away from the mic and his volume barely changes. Absolutely amazing.

Alter Bridge has been my favorite band since i heard them a few years back.
We both know Myles is the greatest singer in rock today and Tremonti best guitarest.
I think Tremonti would beat him in a Rock or Metal battle, saying that Myles would tear him apart in a Classic Rock, Blues or Jazz battle. Just depends on what you like.
Tremonti is still my favorite gitarest though.

Myles Kennedy, definitely write some really cool stuff! Never in my life, have I ever heard poetry, lyrics, words as good as miles can come up with. I actually like this better than the original electric version. Myles is so freaking amazing.
In these videos, I always thought Myles looked high or really tired lol. I think he's just tired because in the first chorus, for the first couple lines, he sings an octave down.
as excited as I am for AB3 I'm a little more excited for Myles' solo album. because it should be out first and I'm curious to see what direction he went with it. his description of "dreamy" has piqued my curiosity.

@frankie1089 Miles Kennedy is a talented guitarist, but the fantastic guitar rifts in this song are played by the lead guitarist Mark Tremonti who is not the guy singing. Together they make a sound that sounds like 1 person playing and singing, but it is two people.
@SynJunior00 I know!! :D I'm so psyched! he's got it mostly recorded. he said on a myspace blog that he just has some vocals left to record. it's coming, though!!! BRING ON 2010!! THE YEAR OF MK!! :D lol.

have you seen AB's cover of deep purple's highway star? myles and mark do a dual solo in there that's incredible. they also do a bit of a dual guitar solo in the damage done (an AB b-side from blackbird).

haha! I can feel what you're feeling. to be quite honest, marshall is the person in that band who is the least exposed yet if you really do listen to the things he does, he really make amazing bass lines! AB won't pick him as the band's bassist even if he was a part of creed if he was not that good
