Today (July 20, 2019) - the day I'm releasing this song, is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. After all these years, it remains to be a testament to great human effort - and that inspires me so much.
I've been fascinated by space exploration for a very long time now. I wrote a song about it (called A Song About Space) - and even made a fashion collection inspired by astronaut suits and extravehicular mobility units.
The Apollo program has made everyone (including me) a believer in science and in miracles. When I look up and I see the full moon - I am amazed every single time that humans have walked its surface. It's an aspirational symbol of hope for me.
I wrote this song two years ago, and have had it in the backburner since then. But I thought, what better day to let the world hear "An Opportunity to Go to the Moon" than the 50th anniversary of the moon landing? It's not the most succinct title, but I think it has a touch of whimsy to it. I like it, and I hope you do too.

THE PERSON WHO GAVE THE STARS:
one day, Sol, the sun, was about to leave earth for the night when he saw Luna, the moon. he gazed upon her and was stunned by her beauty. she was a lonely god, not a cloud accompanying her in the vast darkness. Sol wanted to stay with her, but as the sun, he knew that they can never meet in the same sky, for his brightness would outshine the goddess.
so one twilight, before he left the horizon, he cutted pieces of himself and made small lights as beautiful as gemstones, he placed them in the sky as his light dims. That night the goddess is lonely no more. She was as happy as she could be, but she never knew WHO GAVE HER THE STARS

The night before my girl friend's burial I was scanning her liked songs on Spotify. I stumbled upon this song and felt like this was her letter for me before she goes on her own adventures. I really felt her presence and how she was saying her goodbye. After months of not having dreams about her, she visited me last valentine's day and everyday since then I'm starting to miss her and the thoughts are coming back. Now I'm listening to this crying.

This songs hits me the most. When I was a kid I used to badly want to become and astronaut. Everybody who knew me, knew how much I loved the moon. I was set on becoming an astronaut as a 7 year old kid that I promised my dad that one day when I'll become an astronaut I'll bring him to the moon and promised to him we would build a house there and live there( little did I know you can't HAHAHA). Through the moon me and my father got closer and closer but as I grew old I became more distant to him due to some issues at home and sadly I became so distant that I wasn't able to make any more beautiful memories with him. We became very distant and my love for the moon was slowly diminishing too. It was a regret of mine now that my dad passed away from an accident. Quite sad to think that my last moments with him was filled with anger. I may have never been able to bring him to the moon but in my mind he's already there, every time I see the moon I just imagine him building the house that I promised him when I was a child, so we could live there together in the moon, happily and peacefully. Pa, I miss you.

one of my most heartbreaking moment in high-school is when i finally realised i had been stuck in an abusive friendship and had to let go of it for a healthier connections, alam ko kung gaano ka saket para sakanya kung maririnig nya na para saken sobrang nag deteriorate and naging toxic friendship namen those past years. so as a scared shit, suddenly bigla na lang kameng di nag pansinan and there it goes, alam kong cycle naman kaya ako na mismo kumalas. its been months since we had talked and last year ko na to sa hs. she adore galaxy, the nighttime sky and stars so much that "take her to the moon for me" had been her signature quote (almost everyone in our batch knew it, she also love that song so much) this song just reminds me so much of her, some nights i thought of "knocking" through her window and just tell her sorry and the stars will always shine for her before i left for the moon (eight months and we'll be graduating soon) sometimes I think of asking her if she would want to go with me, but i doubt it. because i know the truth is, nothing stays in highschool forever, nothing.
at ate m, you'll always be a saturn to me! and if we ever cross paths again in the future i don't want you think there is something wrong with you or what, it's just maybe people like us weren't meant to stay side by side.

A girl, during most mundane night, figured out how to float. Starts aiming towards the moon, her dream, but is stopped by the thought of re/visiting everything she loved on Earth first. Flies over her family, her friends, that one park she used to go as a kid, even stopped by to get fries and coffee float via drive-thru. Hovers over the world before resting at the Kennedy Space Center.
She figures it's time to go. Propels herself into the atmosphere and takes one look back on Earth before hugging the moon.
