This^^ this is what my art teacher didnt understand. He had us fill out project proposal forms in grade twelve art because we got to choose what our projects were but one of the questions was always "what are you trying to accomplish, what do you want people to feel" and my answer was always "idk i just think itll look cool and be fun"

Jazz’s, as a creator, you need to make a little “selfish content” now and then. If you do what everyone else wants you to do all the time, you get burnt out. Selfish content not only prevent burnout, but it’s just fun. Personally, I love it when creators make their selfish content because I get to see something they enjoy/something they really want to do.

Literally brought me to tears hearing how each character symbolized something that was really important to him because this is what art is supposed to do.
As a tattoo artist, I know all to well they stress of always having to draw for others. It gets to a point that you forget to have fun with art. Thanks for reminding me to have fun with what I do, your videos are a huge help.
If anything it's probably worse for you. You're not just drawing for others you're drawing something on them that's permanent. Once you start putting on the skin, If you mess up you can't just throw it in the trash and start over.

I mean it's different for you, obviously, since you can permanently mess someone up :D
When he said that he wanted to feel the "I made that, I like that.", I was just overwhelmed with joy. Honestly, I'm never hardly satisfied with my works but when I do get *that* feel, it just really gives that euphoria of wow. And it makes it feel even better when I see others appreciate my work (makes heart go squeeze XD). So good on you Mr. Jazza! You have once again created such a wonderful piece and continue to inspire aspiring artists :)
Can someone just give this man a hug, becuase he needs one for everything hes done. All the hard work, all the hours, the dedications, all the tough times and all the good times. Jazza, I grew up being told that creative pursuits were a waste of time and money. It wasn't until I was 35 and out of curiossity I started taking personality tests and I discovered that I'm actually a very creative person. I can cook, draw, play an instrument, write, read at a very high level, enjoy out of the box problem solving and many other things that I just did when I had the time and wasn't working. Watching you be creative and have fun brings me so much joy. Thank you.
This is so satisfying to see. It doesn’t look real! When you showed the finish product it looked almost computer generated. It’s so clean, it looks so good, and it was so cool to hear you explain why you drew those characters. This is still one of my favorite channels on RUclips!

Doing selfish projects is always necessary in my opinion! Most artists spend so much time making things for other people that throwing in selfish projects for ourselves helps us keep that spark of creativity alive. I love making art for other people, but it's so satisfying to make something for myself that I'm really proud of.
"I made that. I like that!" might be one of the greatest feelings in the world. I built my kitchen all myself with my dad and everytime I walk into it I bubble up with pride.

Jazza did a video where he took thrift store paintings and vandalized them. I got so inspired, I bought some old paint-by-numbers at a garage sale the very next day and did the same. One was of a ship on the ocean, so I painted a tourist on a floaty, about to get crushed by the ship in full mast that was bearing down on him. The other was of a horse and a dog playing in a farm yard. I gave them astronaut helmets and painted the background to look like the moon. Thanks, Jazza! You always inspire me.

It's kind of ruined the rest of RUclips for me though. Ever since the I don't like what I've become video I can't not see the unnecessary pizzazz people put in their videos just to add energy. It always kind of annoyed me before but now I'm having a harder time ignoring it.

Hello! I’ve been watching you for a month now, and wow, honestly, i am proud of you like a mom would be. I can feel your passion and your progress in your art and in your words. Thank you for teaching us daily, not only new art techniques and projects, but to motivate us to create, to improve our imagination and to not give up on this beautiful things we can all create.
Jazza's drawing on the door has more sentimental value than some people's tattoos.
Fun fact, tattoos don't have to mean anything. Many people get them just because they like them. It's nice to sometimes have a tattoo that is commemorative or a memorial or a badge of loyalty to important things, but some tattoos are just pretty, or are someone's favorite animal, or just a celebration of ownership over one's body and the ability to become a canvas for art.
Your so called, “fire” gave me a, what if felt like, mini hart heart attack.

11:07 Ok I’m sorry but I have to say this because Im passionate.... I got that drawing book years ago when I was just learning to draw, and it is STILL the BEST drawing book I own. I am making a web comic for the first time, and I use that book every single time I design a character! It helps not only with the physical design process, but also helps me think of inner qualities that I would otherwise have not thought of! Jazza is one of the main people who got me into art and that book helps me continue to do it! As Im typing this, that book is sitting on my desk underneath my sketchbook, waiting for me to use it again today! So thank you Jazza! :)

If nothing else, Jazza understands content creation, and is a great representation of what a creator should look like. Integrity.
If you become so obsessed with making things we love, then how can you say you always love your art? Sometimes the best thing for an artist is to just draw/paint/craft/sculpt for themselves and no one else. So selfish? No, Jazza this was incredible to watch and see come to life, and your passion for art is what keeps this channel interesting. So never lose that please, even if it means a 'selfish' project once in a while.
I really hope, somewhere out there, the disney guy sees this and sees your growth and is proud of you.

I think this may be your best video so far (I should know I've seen almost all of them) not only for the beautiful artwork but especially for sharing that sometimes we forget how many good things we achieved so far and only focus on the negative feelings. It's good to remind ourselves of our achievements, I don't read it as selfishness, I think it's healthy, inspiring and keeps us motivated for future challenges.

Honestly, especially in the closeups, you can see - yeah, this guy's an artist. That's a guy that can use pens and brushes and stylus alike, that's a dude that practiced his actual craft and has earned muscles memory and precision and skill.
And seeing someone like that just glow up and be able to be genuinely proud and have the feeling of "wow. I _made_ that" when taking a step back - especially recently - is simply so heartwarming and amazing.
