I’m trying not to cry as I type this, my aunts name is Frances too she has cancer. Her daughter is supposed to be getting married in October but we’re not sure if my aunt will have that long so she moved the wedding up to this august. I’m very close with both of them they were there when I was born and they even lived with me for some time. I’m trying to learn this so then maybe I can play it at the wedding since i know they both love this song. Thank you for posting this video it’s really helpful. And please if anyones reading this pray for my aunt I really don’t want to lose her.🤍🤍

I am self learning (bigginer) , what are some of the things I can do to reach grade 7?....note I have no interest in reading sheet, I specialise in playing by ear.

Practice atleast 1 hour a day
Learn a new piano piece everyday
The song/piece should be about 3 minutes long
Keep a track of all the songs you learn and write their names in a notebook and once you complete around 20, you can practice 4-5 songs that you learned before.
Sheets are only for examination
Playing by ear is what I like
So there's no compulsion to play by sheet music
Look at online tutorials where they show which key to play in the colored format.. These are better than sheet music.
I recommend @PeterplutaX tutorials for beginner songs.

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but when you get to the verse part I’m playing the exact same chords as you but yours somehow sound deeper and harmonize well but mine sounds horrible

Stupid me - I’ve been trying to play this off a guitar tab website which has the song written in A Sharp Major.
Meanwhile you’re playing in B flat major. And it sounds better.
It took me way too long to realise that they are the same thing…. 🤪
It sounded bad when I played it in A Sharp Major because I had never heard of this scale before and every second note I played was wrong. 😅

Hmm this channel is brilliant, I didn't sing with playing until about a month ago (still absolutely horrid) but this really provides foundation to songs I already know which is a huge unexpected bonus. Now I can improvise even better.
What's particularly interesting here is that when your not accompanying the song the hands almost essentially swap. You play a scale version of each chord that ends in same F, the same exact note each right hand chord is ending with. The B flat in each chord played in the right with the notes being sung following it. This gives me a ton to think about as I create my own version and add my voice to it.

I have a doubt... Can we change the fingers for the same keys?? I mean I saw her play different keys with different fingers in preview but when you were teaching you taught using different fingers...
Use whichever fingers feel comfortable, there’s often different ways to play something. As long as the fingers you’re using are sensible and enables you to articulate properly.
