    Japan is very conscientious about recycling. There is a specific bin for each item and they are pretty strict about it. Japan is by far one of the cleanest countries I’ve ever been to. They are super polite, courteous, respectful of each other and their country. We go as often as we can.

    • @LinnainJapan
      @LinnainJapan  2 года назад

      I can’t agree more 😌 thank you for sharing your thought. It’s hard for those who never seen those bins (many of them at one row) how we have to throw our trash 😆

    This was so interesting to see with prices. Our food prices in the U.S. are so insane compared to others. Although, I guess you can’t totally compare since we get paid differently, although our average salaries aren’t that far apart.

    Everything looks so cute and fresh and I know Japan recycles most things but they should try to plz use less plastic

      I agree. Even though we throw our trash according to different types, still less would be better

    The amount of plastic packaging is absolutely abnormal 😰 even the eggs?! Is there a reason why eggs need a plastic packaging in Japan? It is difficult the avoid the packaging while shopping in Europe as well, but a singular eggplant in a plastic bag is just over the top.

    • @rm709
      @rm709 2 года назад +4

      It’s so wasteful… yet Linna said that the Japanese culture of cleanliness has something to do with all the plastic. It’s not okay, and should really be changed. For being so environmentally “friendly”, Japan is really behind!

    • @tanjatolar6510
      @tanjatolar6510 2 года назад +1

      Yes, it is really difficult to see all that plastic, even when you are in Japan it is everywhere, you cannot avoid it. They wrap bananas in plastic too...

    • @makesusmile21
      @makesusmile21 2 года назад +1

      @@tanjatolar6510 they really take it to absurdity. Sadly I've read about the banana packaging. I'm really interested in the thought process behind it. I appreciate the ingeniosity of some inventions, although I doubt they are necessary. Like why would anyone need a single use umbrella condom? It's absolutely unnecessary, considering that Japan already has a big issues with those cheap umbrellas being everywhere. With those covers they only add to the environmental problems. I don't intend to use the term "cheap" in a derogatory form, but since they are so affordable people tend to not really take good care of them.
      Honestly curious, if the government has any future plans to better the packaging issue.

    • @makesusmile21
      @makesusmile21 2 года назад +2

      @@rm709 I agree 100% with you. I am thankful for the videos. We get chance to take a glimpse into other cultures and by no means do I mean to be judgmental, but I'm honestly shocked by the amount of garbage they sell the produce in.

    • @makesusmile21
      @makesusmile21 2 года назад +3

      @@Ruth-rm9rw zu den Preisen kann ich leider nicht viel sagen, da ich selber noch nie in Japan war. Allerdings ist es schon ein krasser Unterschied zu unseren Supermärkten. Natürlich wird bei uns auch viel zu viel in Plastik eingepackt, aber eine einzelne Aubergine, habe ich hier noch nie gesehen. Schaue verschiedene Videos, weil die mich entspannen, bin aber immer wieder unangenehm überrascht, wie man da mit dem Thema Umweltverschmutzung umgeht. Ich kaufe zum Beispiel nicht im Unverpacktladen ein, achte trotzdem darauf möglichst wenige Lebensmittel in unnötiger Verpackung einzukaufen. Und dann noch die Ananas in eine extra Tüte packen, heftig.
