Good video of fishing the Niagra, fished there at Art Park in the mid 'Eighties. We threw every color of Cleos at them with no luck, two guys were fishing a little downriver and slaying them, went over to see what they were using , we then changed to that color and BAM! the fish were like they hadn't eaten in weeks. Around here a 16" stocked rainbow is a good size, that river soured me on trout from here. Thanks for the memories! Forgot how cold I was that day 'til we started catching fish. Tight Lines!
That’s how it always goes down there. You could throw everything at them with no luck then switch up to a certain color and pull one out every other cast! I’ve had my fair share of days where I caught nothing but the days like this video here are what keep me coming back for more! Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching!
It happens all the time down there. People just don’t care I guess. What was funny is I caught those four and they didn’t even get one hahaha. Thanks for watching!!!!
What's going on bud. Damn that was a really nice fish. I just subscribed to the channel for future content. Good luck out there this year. Tight lines.
First time watching . Nice video, some pretty good explanations... Love the fact that you were showing the lures... Since I've not done a lot of lower Niagara fishing with lures, how do you tell when strike ? I normally float fish Art Park
Thanks! You can usually feel when they hit it’s almost like the lure stops in its tracks. Now this can feel like you’re hitting the rocks at the bottom and I’ve been fooled by this plenty of times. I’ll usually have a part in the video where it goes “false alarm 🚨” this is when I get snagged up on a rock or whatever is down there, could be a tree branch or somebody’s old line from when they themselves got snagged. When a fish hits it usually takes a second or two to figure out if it’s a rock or a fish but the rod tip usually starts bobbing up and down and you can feel the head shake just like I’m sure you can feel when float fishing.
Thanks!!! Yes it was, this video was this past Sunday the 28th. I was also there the day before but didn’t catch anything so it never turned into a video. I’d say those 4 made up for getting skunked the day before though hahaha!
Yes you can! It should be the same regulations as the entire state of New York. To be sure I would check online if you type in “New York state fishing regulations” into google it should take you to the DEC website where you would be able to find all the information you need. Thanks for watching!!!
The boat got the whole river to fish n why they fish somewhere instead of the people. Do they know to fish or they see someone catching em and try that very spot. Fish is everywhere, but the choice is the lure.
Yeah I’m not sure why they choose to get so close to the fishermen on shore, but I guess if they see someone catching fish they’re all going to flock. You are right though the fish are everywhere and it all depends on what lure they want to hit that day!
Welcome to Buffalo! Buffalo creek and Cazenovia creek are good for steelhead in the fall, winter, and spring. If you want trout at the Niagara River you can fish there from October through to the spring. If you want salmon at the river you can go from the end of August to the end of September. Take a look at olcottfishing.com and go to the Bill Hilts fish finder and that will show you where and when you can catch certain fish during the year. It is a daily report that tells you the best places to get certain fish for that week. Good luck!
Some beauty lakers there! Nicely done
Thanks!!!
Nice job!
Thanks!!!

Dudes in boats got the entire water to fish on and drive up right in front of the bank fisherman. You were slaying those fish couldn’t be stopped.
