I DON’T WANNA MISS STUFF! IS THAT THE LIL 3 CYLINDER 1.8 L COROLLA GR W/ 6 SPEED MANUAL?? CAR IS SICK. Sorry to type in caps like a baboon, but I mean it. I will not miss stuff. Thanks Phil & Jess.
Thanks for the feed back I will have to try it straight. Love the videos your always great about how to use your chemicals also love the new podcast your doing
Questions always: Coating is how thick? UV protection? Resistance to getting embedded materials? Hydrophobic only? Resistance to Acidic or Alkaline washes? How important is it to correct the paint before applying a coating? People apply products at home can be frustrated not knowing of following instructions. This car looks amazing. A damp towel across the finish shows what can't be seen in the rain or dry surface which can help determine is it time for correction?
These Questions are good questions but depending on who you ask you will get varied answers. Some will tell you excellent UV protection, others will say not so great, some will say scratch resistance, others will say none. Personally I am not a huge fan of Nano Coatings. 1. They look overly glossy to me making the finish look like a toy car. Some people think super shiny is good, but not for all finishes. 2. They require A LOT of prep work to get them to bond properly. For those who can afford to leave their car somewhere for a couple of days or more plus cure time up to 7 days with no water or bug bomb contact all power to you, for me? I just don't have that luxury. 3. You need to maintain the coating just like you would anything else. Most companies that sell nano coatings tell you to maintain them a certain specific way and those products cost a bit. 4. You are still going to get rock chips, etc and swirl marks, some people think their cars are bulletproof or something because they have a "Graphene Nano Coating" on their car🙄 Lastly, for myself the really only "Benefit" of a nano coating of any type is they make the car somewhat easier to clean. That's about it. If you regularly wash your own car and even keep turtle wax on your car every 3 months or so, your paint will last and look good. Just depends on your budget. Detailers love nano coatings because that is where a lot of their profit comes from. The prep work takes hours the application takes less than 30 minutes in most cases. Huge Money Maker.
@@eppyz I'm old school, paste wax and a buffer on single stage was what I learned to use in the 70's and graduated as the market moved to failure Clear coats to the solvent then water based products and so on and so forth. I tried most until I found what I liked. Adding a topper on a product I like was where I ended up. Blues and reds the sun beats down. Manufacturers don't leave enough clear for longevity so UV protection and durability so a sacrificial layer(s) make big difference in the long run. I like the combo I use.
Hi. Coating Thickness doesn’t really matter that much, it’s hard to tell anyway since it’s measured in mills and clear coat thickness is very uneven. Resistance to chemicals is great and even embedded contamination. However after a few years the paint will accumulate some bits that will get stuck even though the hydrophobics will be awesome. Correcting the paint does not matter at all when applying a coating, the paint simply needs to be clean and free of any other previous protection. Paint correction is for swirls and imperfections that will make the paint look worse, but it doesn’t affect the coatings durability.
@@MirandaDetailing I noticed on my new F150 that I have coated and keep a fresh sacrificial spray and rinse treatment on it (topper) that the industrial contamination it was getting that was oily and sticky and left awful film spread through whiper action on the windshield comes off without a problem now. My last car was a test bed of different products that didn't work over the last 20+ years. You needed a harsh detergent and long dwell time and a hand wash to remove. I had applied a topper on one side of the hood and not the other and checked the wind sock and parked where I get the most exposure. Let it get hit 5 days and did a prewash with a neutral pH soaking for several min and rinsed it off and was shocked to see the side with the 2 week old topper the stuff was totally gone. The side with just the coating was really good but not all gone. The coating was a over a year old and doing well. When you mentioned a topper won't hurt I wanted to say it can only help at least it did here. I no longer feel the tug on the wash mit on cars with the toppers after the prewash. Neighbor across the street same parking lot, no ceramic and no toppers "gimmicks" He calls it, fights to get his cars clean. Keep saying what is on your mind while doing these videos, people pick up pearls here and there.
@@MirandaDetailing I understand that you guys are honest, but many detailers out there are not. They will tell you a paint correction or "enhancement" should be done prior to a nano coating being applied and upselling the customer. Most money is made in paint correction these days so its pushed. Yes if a clean surface is needed but that goes for any application nano coating or not. There are other products that have good chemical resistance as well, some of which hold up better under certain conditions over nano coatings. I do believe nano coatings are overhyped in the industry. They don't produce the best paint clarity or depth, but do offer a lot of gloss and for most that is good enough. Hope you folks have a great Christmas, and keep up the hard honest work👍
Good video, a suggestion tho you should tuck the kuff of your wash mitt into the mitt so you dont accidentally contact the paint and scracth it. 😮
Hi. Thanks. You mean the soft cuff of the mitt you think will scratch the paint? Have you had that happen before?
So great having a customer keeping it nicely
Awesome to see they are taking care of it!
I wish you guys live in CT so I can use your service. Unfortunately the drive to VA is over 6 hrs for me.
I’d love to see you do a review on shine supply’s Clutch.
