Dear Doctor 💚 Why should we make the gingival portion of class 5 ( 0.8 ) and ( 1.25 ) incisally In both we are in the dentin. I did not understand the relation ( enamel at gingival area is thinner ) Do u mean the gingival 0.8 mm ( we are still in Enamel ? )
As you mentioned, in both places we are in dentin. In cervical area, enamel is thin and so we reach dentin at a lesser depth. If we prepare the cavity at the same depth, chances for pulp exposure is more.
If we keep the margins at least 0.5 mm away from the contact with the adjacent tooth, the margin of the restoration can be visualized easily. The finishing and polishing instruments can easily access these areas. If the margin is inside the contact area this is impossible. Also if the margin is away from the contact area, then the patient can clean the margin while tooth brushing. This will prevent the incidence of secondary caries.

how the placement of the margin in a position will allow the finishing of the restoration
