That's an interesting comment Chris. There's a lot of Australian clips that skirt lighter (or not at all...) but this wool is a traditional crimping style at 15-16 microns with a very high curvature so it all goes to the Italian trade which demands a very high standard of clip preparation. Also the Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) have a Code of Practice that the Wool Classer must adhere to (or they get a please explain letter) and if the job is done properly then AWEX give it a tick and the buyers then know the wool has been prepared and classed properly so they can bid with confidence and hopefully that results in a better price for the grower. But at the end of the day its up to the grower to decide what standard of clip preparation they want.
@@kalgaramerinos7085 yeah I’ve shorn in sheds supplying the Italian market, they still didn’t take that much off, one place we had to wear everything new at the start of the shed, moccasins, pants, singlets the lot, they supplied the gear, including handpiece etc, to eliminate contamination, OTT, think they only did it a couple of years
That was fascinating to watch. Thanks for sharing it with us! And congratulations to Argyle!
Thanks Craig! Truly a great effort by Argyle.

Well it's getting closer to our shearing I think it's gonna happen in late September. I think you would too.
