You can use a regular aluminum oxide grinder wheel just take your time and have water ready to cool it. if you change the color you got it too hot. It is about as easy to get too hot with a flap disk as a regular aluminum oxide wheel
Great video. Lots of good tips here. I have to say, I don't agree with padding a striking tool near the head. How do you know if your handle is cracked under that padding? Something to think on.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. I think I would just remove the tape to inspect the handle periodically and put new tape over the original wires.

We use oxygen tubing instead of wires under our grip tape. Provides for more comfort while using the tool.
