    In 13:20 sir , you have written vg= dw/dk but here w=? K = ?
    But I think w = (w1+w2)/2 resultant angular frequency
    K= (k1+k2)/2
    Resultant of propagation const
    Is it correct sir ?

    Sir i have one confusion ...we say that wave packets are made of many individual waves and speed of eavh individual wave is phase velocity .....if each individual wave has diff velocity thn there will be many phase velocities but acvording to relation which u derived phase velocity has got only one value w by k ? Why

      The idea of a group velocity distinct from a wave's phase velocity was first proposed by W.R. Hamilton in 1839, and the first full treatment was by Rayleigh in his "Theory of Sound" in 1877.
