Larry Jake The scripture I reference spoke of how the "Super Religious" (Pharisees) were so concerned about the external things and protocols and ritualism that they failed to see that what really mattered was man's heart; what was inside of him and if the persons heart in the abundance of their flaws was sincerely toward him. I am sure as reasonable adults we understand that even outside of religion or spirituality filling your body with harmful drugs is not prudent or wise nor God's perfect will for our lives; nor do I condone or support it. However, I do not believe that Christians who smoke or drink have an automatic ticket to hell. We love to forget the grace of God and jump to judgement. Repentance and forgiveness is so sweet and I am glad it is God that has the final say. We are not under law we are under grace. However, grace should not be abused and we should strive to live a holy life that does not look like the non-believing world.

If you go back to chapter 7, you will see that Paul was addressing things that the Church had written to him about!
