Vision has a Control Room where Dami is watching a Monitor. It shows Soldiers with rifles. She also hits the "Launch " Screen. Then you see multiple Targets around The World light up. At the beginning of Vision you see Peace written on the wall with a Siren and a Red Warning light rotating. All of these clues point to what this trilogy is about. Nuclear War. Maison is set in the Future where they portray themselves as Angels wearing white in Heaven.
Dreamcatcher is surely a type of group that makes us excited, cause not only the girls have extremely good vocals, the music is always well thought, the instrumental part plays with different and not main stream cord progressions. They always have meaningful lyrics too. The one word I like to use to describe them is rich. Their songs and talent are rich.
This band absolutely slaps and I would have never heard of them without your video I watched two days ago. Also every time you said "the almighty dollar" I thought of the song by Ozzy
You are absolutely right, Dreamcatcher are touching on a very important subject here. Maison is French for "house" or rather "home", and they are singing about everyone's home, which is our planet. Previously they talked about online hate, now they are tackling an issue that impacts the whole planet and therefore everyone. Climate change is going to affect all of us, and it is already affecting many people. Island Nations will disappear under the ocean ("Save my home in the ocean"). Ice melts in the arctic and displaces people ("Save my home in the polar"). Forests get decimated by corporate greed and habitats get destroyed ("Save my home in the jungle") and disappearing glaciers and snow packs result in even less water for deserts ("Save my home in the desert"). People have a natural tendency to ignore issues that seem to be in the future - but climate change is here, right now. We can't wait anymore, and it is good that Dreamcatcher use their platform to promote change: "Break your habit now!" Musically I really enjoy the song. Like in BEcause, the rock/metal vibe is dialed back a bit, but it is still there and highly distorted. Although the more I listen to it, the more Rock I hear. I especially like how the pre-chorus and chorus seems to appear out of nowhere, the chord progression in the bridge, and the epic end part. The bass line is crazy as well. LEEZ and Ollounder (their producers) have done it again, and the members are just brilliant. Respect! By the way, they got their first (and second) win with this, finally! It took 1923 days for them to reach this goal. Basically, they had to make rock popular in Korea again first. Next should be BEcause and Deja Vu!
Maison is about climate change. Also is the "prequel" of sort, to Vision. Concept in the mv is the girls are some kind of celestial beings who come to our trashed world trough portals to fight the corruption of this world. You probably know that Maison is french for Home but, its also an anagram for Somnia so, the girls are saying protect my home but also protect our somnias
Just binged all your DC reactions. I love your insight and attention to detail dissecting these songs. Dreamcatcher have great concepts, production and lyrics. Hopefully you can check out Deja Vu, BEcause and Rose Blue next, since those aren’t connected to a storyline, and then the Nightmare series!
I like how they say "Please someone fight for us" is Maison, but then in Vision they're like "Actually, you know what..." Kinda like how in Scream they were the victim saying "Please I don't want to scream", but in BOCA they started to fight back telling the haters "I'll close your mouth". Let's just hope the sequel to Vision isn't a sad ending like in Odd Eye.
Dreamcatcher put a lot of effort into their music. From social awareness of cyber-violence and climate change, their perseverance to get to where they are as Dreamcatcher and expressing their love for their fans. I dunno how to put it, but to me, they put all these feelings and effort into songs, to hope that they reach the hearts of people. Through sound, then visual and finally lyrics. In Maison, the line that Siyeon sings, "Pretending not to know, you'll disappear too" is just chilling to think about. For species extinction is something so global, but silent that when it occurs, it feels like it is happening outside of our lives. Maybe you can try looking into a guide on Dreamcatcher? :)
Thank you for the reaction and continued Dreamcatcher love! I always know when reaction content creators are enjoying Dreamcatcher when their video lengths start increasing over time. 😂
Another Great reaction to Dreamcatcher, Thanks for the awesome content. Maison means home/house in French so the song talks about protecting our only home in Mother Earth before we destroy it permanently. This song was a very big release for Dreamcatcher because it won DC their very first music show wins in Korea, Musicians perform after releasing title tracks to potentially gain success and popularity on multiple platforms in Korea. Dreamcatcher was previously a not very popular Korean Pop group in Korea due to the mix of rock and metal sounds in their songs. However, despite the major differences they've grown over time and become a major hit overseas, and now are starting to become more popular in Korea. Dreamcatcher have made a style and platform of music so unique that no other group can replicate, that's what makes songs so impactful. To let you know about the angelic scenes those were the Girls portraying goddesses trying to take action on the Earths disarray, trying to show the ignorant people who ignored the warnings they that they will pay or change how they are for what they've done. Thanks again for the Amazing reactions hope to see many more in the future, if I were to suggest any recommendations react to a song called Chase Me it's their debut song as Dreamcatcher and it started their very first series of songs portraited as nightmares.
yep! she wasn't trying to destroy the head but rather change his mind. all the world needs is for a minor change in habit from everyone for a better tomorrow :) if you want to continue checking out dreamcatcher's title tracks, there are two stand alone songs/mvs that's aren't part of a series - 'deja vu' and 'because'. you could also start their 'nightmare' series(chase me, good night, fly high, you and I, what, piri) which being october is somewhat fitting lol. the sound for these songs is a lot different from the ones you checked out, especially the nightmare series. also I have to warn the lyrics are extremely abstract but you should know dreamcatcher doesn't really sing about romantic love you hear from pop. pronouns such as 'you' often refer to a dream/desire, or even yourself since many of their songs are self reflective.
The basic concept of the trilogy seems to be that the girls are playing goddesses/warriors trying to protect the planet-hence the kind of pantheon-looking scenery here and the lightning powers they display in Vision. On the flip side, the scene you pointed out as representing corporations very intentionally looks like Hell-goats are often used to represent the Devil, and the scenery is all red and orange in contrast to the browns and greys for earth and white and pink for “heaven”/the goddesses’ realm. Weirdly though I think the other figures in the corporate hell are giraffes? 😂 Also, idk how into metal you are, but what you said about liking groups with meaningful messages like this makes me think you’d enjoy hearing the band Within Temptation. They’re a veteran in the symphonic metal scene and their music, especially their more recent stuff, is very focused on social and political criticism. Some great ones are Entertain You, which is about how social media culture can be exploitative and insincere; Don’t Pray For Me, which is about how people shouldn’t force their beliefs on others or try to make them change; and Raise Your Banner, which is a full-on anthem to fight for justice. Sharon, the vocalist and part of the writing team, waves the Ukrainian flag every time they sing the song live to show her support for the war going on there.
Loved the reaction... The message I got from this is... Don't just say about it... Act on it!! Especially with election just around the corner, you know the politicians will say anything to get the votes, but once elected they forget all the promises they made... People are same... We raise all these pickets and say we need to save this and save that... But that's where it ends... Less talking, more doing.... That's the theme I got from the song...absolute 🔥🔥🔥
Just binge through 5 of your Dreamcatcher videos 😄 had a good time speedrunning along your reaction. I'd like to suggest BEcause and Deja Vu for next reaction since they're stand alone songs. Former is horror theme song while latter is collab song for a side scrolling rpg mobile game, and also arguably one of the most epic Dreamcatcher song thus far. Since you (in previous video) mentioned Metallica and Sabaton, I figured you be interested with Dreamcatcher's Japanese song. There's the hard rocking Endless Night, proper metal song with No More, and even symphonic metal-ish Don't Light My Fire. Maison is special indeed 🏆 also my favorite bridge in Dreamcatcher's discography. Look forward to your next Dreamcatcher video 🤘
Alaska just cancelled snow crab and king crab season because they disappeared. That is the Home in the Polar. 90% of the snow crabs are gone and nobody knows why.
You may want to check out Bookish Theories on YT for their explainers on Maison and Vision, she is especially good on symbolism and connections to mythology. The one on the stand alone song Deja Vu (which you will get to eventually) is a classic.
since you've already done your starting journey with the trilogy and the last comeback, and it seems that you really like them, and before you Continuing the journey with another dreamcatcher masterpieces you should have to make a reaction video to a "guide to dreamcatcher" to get to know them better and officially joining the fandom Insomnia ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
I have no idea what the correct interpretation is, but mine is that : - what you call “heaven” would be like Olympus, and they’re the goddesses, they take care of the planet, but also, kinda means : when you care about the Earth, everything is pretty and lovely, you’re like a god in Olympus and when you don’t, you’re stuck in the post-apocalyptic world that you didn’t try to save and that’s now all dead, in ruins and lonely. - Dami (the rapper) seems to have taken out the soldiers that you see at the beginning, who were causing destruction with their weapons, explosions etc. And she says “a confession that is just a shell”, which reminds me of when you tell people they’re an empty shell : shallow, so the confession is shallow bc they don’t mean it. Then she talks about closing your eyes and then talks about too late, regret. You closed your eyes, you didn’t want to see what was in front of you, and when you open them again, it’s too late, and you can only regret. - For the horned animal, it reminds me of the representations of satan, here all the sheeps doing the bad things (polluting, littering and what not), she tries to change its mind but it doesn’t care so it dies (the shot of it burning). It died with the rest of the Earth, and everyone that didn’t want to protect it. - As for the statue, the angel looking one is, same thing, the beautiful Earth, that is now dead because you didn’t do what was necessary to save. It happens around the same time SuA isn’t successful at persuading the goat thing. - Meanwhile all the girls are in what i call Olympus, and there’s the choir of the people they managed to change the mind of/those who cared, saying “la maison” which is French for “Home”. I don’t watch theory videos so I may be spouting nonsense, but that’s how i perceive it. Many InSomnias didn’t really like that comeback, but it was very meaningful to me, and a subject that i hold dear, also I’m French so i was obviously very happy about them having another song with a French title :D But honestly, good work on your analysis in a first listen/watch, that’s really impressive the amount of things you catch while discovering it all from music to visuals, choreo to lyrics, all at the same time! Excited for the next one!🎉
Saw people recommend Endless night and Breaking out, they are great songs, but be careful with them. Japanese songs have much stricter copyright, idk about Dreamcatcher specifically but I know a couple people that got strikes from japanese Twice songs even though all the korean ones are completely fine.
Yeah those chords in the bridge are super dark and dissonant. Well, thats The current trilogy thus far. If you want to work your way backward(sort of) through their catalog the next place to go is BEcause, which is a one off in terms of story. Then Deja Vu, and the finally you will have to return to the beginning with Chase Me, and see how much their sound has changed, and yet how much it has stayed the same.
"Climate change" is a problem because it is disrupting normal climate patterns modern societies are built around causing deaths from heat and cold, droughts and fires here while others drown in floods there and the hurricane levels 17 towns, and nobody can grow food anymore. Half the carbon pollution comes from the top global companies' factories and shipping around the world (the "your carbon footprint" stuff is a distraction), so that Coke you're drinking is funding the destruction of your Maison. The song says when you close your eyes and ignore that doing whatever you want to take the easy way, the liveable world disappears then you disappear, so change your habits now.
Vision has a Control Room where Dami is watching a Monitor. It shows Soldiers with rifles. She also hits the "Launch " Screen. Then you see multiple Targets around The World light up. Dejavu and because are singles and not part of a trilogy. So you don’t have to worry about getting the order right with those songs.

I obsessed with your explanation, that was interesting, all of dreamcatchers thing, you nailed the theory at first time listening to it, so amazing

Dreamcatcher just dropped their new MV "Vision" the other day. I recommend it
He just reacted to it few days ago😊
It's his first dreamcatcher reaction 😊
it is his first reaction, this currently his 5th reaction.
