D35Smyth You are correct. But I was just showing the process I went through. Also showing the broken breather pipe for the pump which was something that also needed replacing.
It isn't necessary to remove anything inside the car. That is why the cam lock is on the top of the airbag. See here ruclips.net/video/42AcGIDLW24/видео.html
Looking for advice. The pump works, at least its sounding as it is. The Air bags "seem" quite rigid. But the suspension is flat on the floor. do the red and Blue output pipes push out a lot of pressure?Ive already checked the filter and its clear as can be.Help
The pump will still sound like it's working but it might not be pumping. If it's quite noisy that's a bad sign, it should be fairly quiet. If it's a split in the bag you would probably hear it hissing out. My bet would be your pump is knackered. I'd advise to get a new one of eBay. I tried a second hand one and it lasted a few weeks.
I can't remember who I got mine off. But if you look on yours you will see the make and you can get one made by the same company. About £200 if I remember correctly
Please advise. My pump do not work. I found that the the trunk and all electrical parts were wet. I cleaned and dried, the pump do not work still. I changed the green relay in the trunk and I checked the 40A fuse, not running still. I manually powered the pump, it worked. But I can not get it to work normal by itself. I get the fault message on the dash and car is sagging. I think the EHC module is bad, it looks bad and all rusted, I opened it and it looks messy. Would that be the reason the pump isnt working? If I change the EHC do I need to reprogram it? I want to avoid going to the dealer. Please help. Thanks
Talal Rehan I'm not sure about the EHC module, I never had to go that far with mine. But if it's wet and rusty I would consider changing it. I'm not sure about the reprogramming either.
Great video mate :) gives me an insight what to expect got a bit of a sag on mine, it never ceases to amaze me how much stuff you have to remove on these cars to do things :) i have a 535d 2005 thinking about selling no end of issues from when i got it from the dealer but at the same time i do love it :) sounds small but is my dream car , have you put the blanks in the inlet to replace the swirl flaps ? it might be an idea if you haven't I'm glad i did as i had a lose one it could have fallen into the engine maybe but thankfully won't be finding out:)
Driveway Mechanic You don't need to take any of the interior pieces off either. No need to expose the top of the airbag, you just twist it from underneath to remove and replace it.
Hi, Looking for some advice. I recently had my airbag replaced at a garage on a F11. Now my seat release catch won't work on the left hand side. Is this something the garage would have had to remove and have probably not put back right? Thanks
OK thanks for the speedy response. I thought that they would have had to remove the side panels in the boot to get to the airbag release (as in your video) which is where, I presume, is the run for the back seat release which is actually in the boot area as per your video at 3:34...
****THIS VIDEO IS INCORRECT**** You don't need to remove any inside parts just squeeze the bag and twist it and it comes out. Hope this helps

@@pdunleavy1982 where do you get the breather pipes from, ive looked and can only see a US supplier?
FiVibe I just bought some normal rubber pipe. Think it was fuel hose which I think will last a lot longer.
Exactly right and I have done several. Also you don't need to remove the arch liner either.
A minha faz barulho no compressor mas não sobe. As vezes sobe outras não
why do you need to pull the interior apart if the shock can twist out from the bottom?
You don't
@@sweetfreedomGB Exactly he's giving himself a lot of extra work for nothing
Mate can you do this job in my car?Abd how mutch it is coast to repair.Thank you

My compressor works because i hear it evertime i drive that it tries to pump in air to my airbags but some of them has leaks and it keeps getting out.

Any recommendations for the seller ?

I realised after that I didn't need to take the mud liner out. That saves a fair bit of time
It might just be your pump on the way out. That's a fairly easy job. You can get a new one on eBay for about £200

Hi my car is e60 2008 m sport. Is it possible for me to add this on my car?.
I prefer to add same bmw parts as its cheap from dismantlers.
Thanks
we fix anything
You want to add the pump?
I thought the E60 had springs instead of the airbags.
@@pdunleavy1982 hi ya, it has springs.

Nick Gilbert not 100% sure. But if you've had the airbag replaced maybe the seatbelt tensioner went off as well. You might need to replace that.
suspension airbag I mean ^^
Nick Gilbert oh right. I can't see the link there then. I'm not a BMW specialist. It's just a car for a while.

Lol, you don’t need to touch anything in the interior what so ever, just twist the bag out from the underside...
Yeah, I found that out the hard way.
thank you for this video.
