- Baruntse and Mera Peak climbing in alpine style, Nepal, October 2018.
Hi, where did you ask for permission to climb the summit. Did you have a sirdar?
Sorry, I didn't see your comment earlier... We asked a local agency to get us the permits. You can group with other expeditions to lower the price.
The sirdar was mandatory if you want porters. We had 2 porters + 1 sirdar. They hiked with us to get to Mera La. After Mera La, we were completely alone

Merci !
bravo à vous 2 c'est beau
Merci Jonas !
were you able to climb mera peak without using fixed lines? i am interested in doing this alpine style as well. what gear did you take? how did you manage food? did you have porters? thank u brother.
Thankyou for the interest !
Mera Peak is a very easy climb, you do not need fixed lines at all. You need to get the permit (the harder part) and then you climb as you want to do. You need crampons, one iceaxe, rope and harness, crevass rescue gear, and poles. Well like a normal easy glacier hike.
We had porters but we were doing Baruntse wich is a way harder and lonely summit. For Mera Peak you have lodges all the way up to 4800m. And then a camp at 5800m. We did not stay at this camp, we prefered sleeping at 5400m at the Mera La and then go one push to the summit.
@@olivier-mypersonnalamateur1831 Pas mal et réaliste....et moins onéreux: j'aime !
Beautiful one...
Thankyou !
