Still amazes me that Greg Puciato went from being a relative unknown to fronting one of the biggest metal bands in the last 20 years in The Dillinger Escape Plan and then going on to a prolific solo career and jamming with Jerry Cantrell.
And then there's Gil Sharone back there on the drums. My favorite guitarist is jamming with two more of my favorite musicians and it rules.
All of that, and yet my favourite project of Greg's is Killer Be Killed. His role in this particular video shows a level of restraint and professionalism that I think a lot of frontmen would struggle to attain.

This would have flown with either project..melodically a shade darker than most of Cantrells solo work but rhythmically a little more shifty than much of the AIC book..I like the terrain in between these two mountains. These guys---all of them warriors. I drifted away for a split second and imagined the camera panning over to Layne still smoking from the vapors of the afterlife and joining in "gotta find a way to atoooone" a fee times before dissolving back into the glowing dirt. There was this crazy as hell guy named Dave who used to come into my liquor store in Boulder 5/15 yrs ago - one day he had short hair - then his dreads grew out - took a few years - then he cut his hair and grew his dreads out again - took years - happened 3 times like that - that's how I felt older. Anyone else really not like this Greg guy on vocals? Seen Jerry live many times with AIC and once solo. Jerry rocks solo and with AIC, but Greg really hurt the concert for me. He absolutely butchered Man in the Box, so i walked out during it(two songs early). Greg just can't sing
Pretty cool song, but the vocals suck. Jerry is so in love with the “2 = 1” harmonized vocal, and it has its place, but for crissakes, mix it up once in a while vocally. I wanna hear a strong, belted out lead vocal, but it just never comes. That’s what made AIC so epic-you had this harmonized thing, but then Layne would just blast you with those high register screams and powerful lead vocals. That’s the missing ingredient, Jerry.
Meh… Jerry’s songwriting and guitar playing is enough to carry a song without a bombastic belted out vocal line imo. Sure you can get both with AiC, but that’s a once in a lifetime band that I consider to be the best of all time so it’s an outlier

Jerry Cantrell has inspired me. I am going to become a screenplay writer and learn the art of film making. I'm practicing all my instruments to refresh myself to be able to write a score. I'm rusty. My hands don't work right yet.
I am going to go broke doing this, but I don't care. Eventually someone will pay me to write and direct, but I don't care. I'm following my artistic instincts. It is $50,000 annually for film school. I don't care. I have to pursue my art. I'm glad Jerry and AIC came back around and all the authors I talk to are urging me to publish. Thank you all. I cannot be lazy about it anymore. There aren't any excuses anymore.
Jerry and AIC came out of the gate and I admire that. William Duvall sounds better and better. "A Little Bitter" it a difficult song and William made me feel that feeling when I hear him sing it recently. A mischievous feeling. You're supposed to have a messed up attitude in that song and William nailed it last live video I saw. I blast that song every day.

Is it me or is Jerry channeling Layne in this tune? Sounds 3 legged to me. It has that ERRRRrrHh like Layne in some parts. Especially with the lowfi vocals. This is definitely one of the best since get born again.
