Hi, which motor and gear ratio are you running in this helicopter? My 450pro has a 3400kV and with a gear ratio equal to 10.08 (121T/12T) it is hard to get 1200rpm. Thanks

Hi good video well explained on the head speed, but silly question time how do you work out the head speeds ?
do you do it with throttle curve or do you use a digital tachometer ?

Thank you lee. we run constant govern head speed. To work out head speed you need to know gear ratio, motor KV and battery voltage. KV is motor rpm per volt supplied. for arguments sake say gear is 12:1 motor kv is 800 and battery is 6s 22.2v therefor 22.2x800=17760x1/12=1480 at 100% throttle 70% throttle would be 1036 rpm.
Or you can cheat and a head speed calculator we use an app on phone called RC Heli Toolbox

Ok I have to ask, what brand of helicopter is being used here. I have the Rotorscale version sitting on my workbench waiting to be disassembled so I can go through it, I already know the motor is touching the gears at all, and I have a 5 blade rotor head to install. Needless to say this series is helping me out a great deal, thanks

HI Greg Ours is simular to the Rotascale version being a roban fuselage which we match with Align Trex 450 mechanics in our case the pro version. We are very pleased we are of help.
