- Happy Chinese New Year! I thought I celebrate the new year with a Buddhist-style dish this year. This vegetarian roast duck is a great dish for amazing guests and friends for Chinese New Years'.
Ingredients:
1 package bean curd skin
2 oz. dried shiitake mushrooms
4 oz. bamboo shoots, julienned
2 carrot, julienned
1 tbsp ginger, minced
3 tbsp peanut oil
Stirred-Fried Sauce:
1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
2 tbsp soy sauce, light
1 tbsp vegetarian oyster sauce
Bean Curd Sauce:
2 tbsp vegetarian oyster sauce
2 tbsp water
Braising Sauce:
1.25 cups mushroom broth
1 tbsp vegetarian oyster sauce
2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp Shaoxing wine
1 tbsp soy sauce, light
0.5 tsp sesame oil
0.5 tsp soy sauce, dark
3 tbsp peanut oil

It’s really good how you broke things into parts before you did them..for instance the 3 bowls for different sauces for different purposes. It was very helpful understanding the process. I bet that tastes fabulous. I will be trying it. Thanks so much.

No duck. It's mock duck or vegetarian duck.
Mock duck is pretty good
