🥰Thank goodness I came across your tutorials in the nick of time. 😅 Made one yesterday using your Base technique for my Maori friend who was Graduating here in New Zealand and it turned out beautifully made.🤗 Made it watching your tutorial like a million times.😊💕 Love your work.. Thank you for sharing your skills.
Thank you so much for sharing how to make a Kahoa. Our son is getting married next month and these would be perfect for the groom and bride Alofa aku 🙏🏼
Yes, I love it! Can you show us how to make a Kahoa sisi or kafa sisi. I have many but I can’t figure out how to make the base before I start to decorate. Malo!
Wow, this is incredible. Noho au ma Kaua’i, and I’ve only seen this style a few times. The amount of work that goes into it is incredible. Nani loa o ia. What can you use for the threads that is natural and would break down? We usually put out lei in the ocean after we’ve kept them in the house dried for a while.
I haven’t tried nylon thread, my only concern would be if the thread is not thick enough, it will go right through the flowers. Now that I’ve made this lei many many times, I find it easiest to sew on a few pieces of babys breath than the carnation then 2 bunches of babys breath in between. Basically I sandwich the carnations with babys breath and it does a good job of hiding any thread and stem!
Your tutorial are so good and easy that I can even make them! Question, how early could I make this and be sure they would they stay looking fresh. 2-3 days. This type of flower, carnations. Thank you!
It will be fine in the fridge for 2-3 days. If you are making it with white carnations, I would only do 1-2 days because they show more browning than a color carnation
This style I would only make a day ahead. You could make the ti leaf base 2 days ahead (keep it in the fridge) and then add the babys breath and carnations the day before
I haven’t used yarn before. I’m not sure if it would keep ti leaf in place, the plastic twine kind of grips the ti leaf. If you don’t have the lei twine, I would try long raffia or jute twine
I haven’t used roses before but I’ve seen other people make this style with roses. I imagine the process is the same, you might have to make a few adjustments when sewing it on based on the stem length 🌺😊
You are by far the BEST lei tutorial on the internet!

Awesome. Thank you!
Thank you for the tutorial, beautiful Kahoa. but what can I use instead of ti leaves. Live in a state that doesn't have ti leaves available.

I wonder if it would look the same if you were to braid the baby’s breath in with the Ti-leaf. Mahalo ‘ikai. Heeeee’ilo. 😂
Thank you for shareing
Could u use nylon thread or would it rip the flowers? Im hus wondering how to hide the ribbon when dewing the flowers on. Its a beautiful piece❤

The green leaf, sorry I'm new to this, is it a "Tea Leaf? ❤️🙏
Ti-leaf. Different plant
Can banana leafs work as a replacement?
Where do I buy the tea leaves?
How many days in advance can you create the lei so the flowers do not welt?
This style I would only make a day ahead. You could make the ti leaf base 2 days ahead (keep it in the fridge) and then add the babys breath and carnations the day before
Oh and there’s my answer to my question.
I want to see how you could use peacock feathers in a lei.
would roses work?
How many leaves do you need for an adult size?
Thank yooou! 😭
How do you store this when done? In the refrigerator?
Yes! Store in the fridge in the produce drawer with your refrigerator on the lowest/warmest setting
If I don’t have twine, can I use something else like yarn ?
I haven’t used yarn before. I’m not sure if it would keep ti leaf in place, the plastic twine kind of grips the ti leaf. If you don’t have the lei twine, I would try long raffia or jute twine
Can I replace to carnation with roses for the same effect?
I haven’t used roses before but I’ve seen other people make this style with roses. I imagine the process is the same, you might have to make a few adjustments when sewing it on based on the stem length 🌺😊
How to soften the leaves?
We go over that in detail in this video!
ruclips.net/video/ruZ3a374h9M/видео.html
How many ti leafs are you using?
An adult lei uses 8-10 ti leaves
Wow!
malo aupito 🌿ofaz🌺
🎉
Thanks for watching ♥️🌺
You gave little info on online store. How do you expect to post a video without more infos
Your 'Tongan' garlands are looking more and more like our Fijian salusalus (garlands) 🙄
Does it matter lol
Yes it does matter if you're taking Fijian style garlands and calling them Tongan. Not original at all 🙄
Wow that is beautiful ❤
Thank you!!!!! 🌺🌺
