    Try aiming the gun up into the air and make sure there is a half water half air mixture coming out of the bottom nozzle. Also check the wet-bulb temperature, 28 and below of a wet-bulb temperature will give you snow. And also make sure the humidity is 80% or below because my snowgun usually gives me ice when the humidity is above 80%

    If you adjust the angle and shoot the pressured water higher the longer it has time to drop the more it’s gonna actually be snow by the time it hits the ground

    the issue is the bulk 80 degree tips with 3 gallon per min tips, thats 9 GPM that alot of water creating large water droplets. is your presswasher good for 9 GPM? what are your pressher washer specs?
    I would change you 3 bulk water tips to 65 degree 1 GPM tips. open your NUK valve just a little more.

    You're doing it right.... It's all in having the right air water ratio... Next time try cutting your water back a little bit... And give more Air Time by shooting it upward more

    Just like a ski resort
    At Vail/Beaver Creek we let em run 3-4 days, make a huge pile, called a “whale”, and then smear it around about 18inches thick with a dozer. That is then our base layer. Like you are learning, it needs to be about 25 degrees F to really be effective.
    Great experiment.

    I have personally had more succses with my snow gun higher off of the ground. it works better this way because it has more time before it hits the ground to freeze.

    Awesome experiment you did great without much experience ❄️❄️❄️
    Ya it’s grain & it bounces off you
    That’s a test for quality
    Cuz at -5c 25f and dry nights it’s game on.
    You can make really nice -10c n lower it’s like skiing on bearings or talc powder lol
    Some snow guns can pump up to 150 gpm make massive whales 🐳
    -20c it’s when will you empty the reservoir unless you go to a direct replenishment then it’s a beautiful thing.

    Willamette valley, Oregon snow. wet. In the cascades to the east of us they get the powder. cool idea. good luck with your toy. we'll know it is working when Kelly is out there with her ski suit and skis.

  • @funnyfarm5555
    @funnyfarm5555 3 года назад +4

    I think your gadget needs to be higher up and blow up and out. The snowmakers they use on the ski slope up in the cascades blow the air and water up at a 45° or more.

    The bottom nozzle needs to be on a 45 degree angle so it’ll blow through the other 3 nozzles. The bottom nozzle with air atomises the water and the other 3 nozzle water has something to condense on. And being higher the better

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  3 года назад +1

      I’m sure you’re right and I thought about that but a 10 mph wind was blowing it away before it hit the ground when I angled it up some

    • @jasonpalmere695

      @@griggsfarmsllc Higher is not better, sometimes the water will evaporate before hitting the ground. 6' to 8' should be good in your area.

    I want to make a fan gun style and hook the pressure washer up to the front ring. I'm afraid standard pipe can't handle the pressure washer pressure.

    It needs to be a little higher off the ground and also pointed up more. Also close your water valve a little more. The water molecules need to vaporize and if it's too much water then it can't vaporize properly. But youre very close

    I was going to try a broke version using a short garden hose, the mister setting on a watering gun and a strong fan. How do you keep your hoses from freezing? Is it the pressure that keeps the liquid warmer? If so I’m not going to try my idea haha

    Man made snow at the ski resort isn't perfect either. They use the groomer to break it up and level it. I think your rig should be pointing higher in the air with less pressure.

    • @griggsfarmsllc
      @griggsfarmsllc  3 года назад +1

      I didn’t want it any higher because a 10 mph wind was carrying it away. But it would definitely make better snow up higher.
      That’s a good point about the groomers breaking it up.
      Unfortunately I can’t turn the pressure or the flow down on my pressure washer without burning the pump up. Guess I need a small cheap pressure washer for this. Or add more nozzles

      We’re not married to any one brand. We like to pick the equipment that is either best for the job, the most well designed, or the one that fits our needs the best regardless of brand.
