    I've been a stylist for the last 10 years heavily focused as a colorist. Redken Extreme Lamellar treatment is one of the best products I have ever used! It literally makes the hair feel like silk instantly once applied! I rave about this especially for my blondes!

    I actually love these. I haven’t tried the Redken one, but I have repurchased the Wonder 8 a few times. I have also used 2 Amika ones, I didn’t like those as much. I think the Wonder 8 really is amazing. I used the brown one.
    My mom has very fine hair, not a lot of it, it was really damaged, her hair kept breaking off, but using conditioner isn’t really an option for her.
    This truly saved her hair, it’s growing again!

    A very long time ago, I used a product from Clairol called, “Positive Reaction.” It was a treatment that was water-like and slippery, foamed a little, and was to be used after coloring one’s hair. Essentially, it’s the same idea. Change the hair ions to positive and return the pH to normal. Redken used to make their “CAT” line, which was also a similar idea about Cations.

    Hi, I hope you see this question. The L’Oreal 8 second Wonder Water says to use it on lengths only, with the older bottles saying specifically not to use it on the scalp. In some of the reviews on Amazon, there are women complaining about clumps of hair falling out after using. I assume since hair falls out at the roots, they must’ve used it on their scalps. In your video, you are using it on your scalp, also. Have you had any issues with hair loss with this product?

    • @KT-mu8kn
      @KT-mu8kn Год назад +2

      I don’t think so. It destroyed the ends of my hair. They ended up like straw, and the split ends were very deep and almost every hair had them. It took a long time for my hair to recover from the use of this product. I now use BC peptide repair. It is better than Olaplex.

    Hi, Abbey. Thank you for the info on the lamellar water. I purchased the Loreal one (brown bottle) and used it just once so far. I definitely noticed a change in my hair. It was softer and more manageable, like my sister in law’s, who gets keratin treatments at the salon. Two days after using the lamellar product, I washed my hair again but didn’t use the lamellar water. I want to say that my hair was pretty much like it was before using the water. I’m hoping with continued use, my hair will become better. Thank you again!

Pre -poo or Pre-shampoo it’s something that has help me A LOT with breakage and I’m sure your heard of it before as is very known in the curly method but I have straight chemically treated hair and my Brazilian hairdresser recommended this. I do it with a cheap hair mask from the drugstore right before I take shower making sure I cover everything and leave it there for 20 minutes, it’s not a treatment mask it’s only to “protect” the strands from the harsh water and shampoo that goes on it. After ruining my hair with bleach for a job interview where purple wasn't acceptable, I've used everything. First Olaplex, then K18 but adding this to my routine after seeing it recommended has made the biggest difference, even my boyfriend commented on how much better it looks and feels, this is amazing stuff!

    I have always loved Redken products but the Lamellar water made my hair worse for some reason. I have naturally curly hair that I get foiled every 8-12 weeks. It made my hair feel coarse and I noticed a lot more shedding than usual with it. I am now using Olaplex 3, 6, and 7 and the briogeo hair mask, my hair feels so amazing, hasn’t felt this good in years. I just wish I would have made the jump on Olaplex sooner. Going to try their shampoo and conditioner next.

    I noticed that L'Oreal has two options of this product. I bought the one specifically for long hair. I really liked the results... much easier to detangle after I removed my microfiber towel. I'm surprised you put that on your scalp, though. Obviously I did not buy the Redken option but the instructions on the L'Oreal say to apply it to the length of your hair and not your scalp. Did the Redken not have that directive?? I think you're not supposed to use it every time you shampoo, too. But thus far, I like it. Thanks for all the info. Much appreciated!!

    What you said at the end of the video stuck with me. It's true that it's more important to prevent hair damage than to hid it under a coat of silicones. But what drugstore products (I'm on a budget) can I use that are really healthy for my hair? My hair is curly and on the dry side, coarse and frizzy. I keep seeing vlogers that recommend all these awesome natural shampoos that are great for the hair, but they're either not available in my country (Romania) or they're way too expensive for the local economy.😅 I find it hard to pick a hydrating/conditioning shampoo or conditioner for my coarse hair when all I can afford are brands like Garnier, Elseve, Pantene etc. , who's products are mostly only having a visible effect if they're packed with silicones. And it's hard to find a product without silicones that are conditioning enough. Like recently I bought 2 bio products that have 98% natural ingredients, one of which is aloe, and they made my hair feel soft while it was wet, but then when it dried it felt even more rough and frizzy than before. 😔 Any advice?

    Hi Abbey, I love your channel and appreciate your info. I am a hair care freak and do basically all the same treatments and care for my hair somewhat (I hear my family laughing somewhere, ha) obsessively. I am on my second bottle of a Korean Lamellar Water called Moremo. It has some of the usual ingredients, but also has prickly pear, jute, desert rose, sea buckthorn and several algae extracts. It also contains 3 types of natural keratin and 17 amino acids. This stuff is amazing! I don't need any other conditioner with it and my hair stays clean longer. I don't use heat, I only air dry. My detangling brush glides through my hair, to be truthful I don't have much trouble with tangles but I have none at all with this stuff. I have waist length straight dark, almost black hair and it is extra soft and glossy with Moremo. Maybe you could try it out and let us know if you get a different result than the ones you tried. I just love it!! ❤️❤️

    Ok, just a thought: I think Abbey missed the most important point: all these wonder water products have huge amounts of denatured alcohol in them: if that is bad for your skin (and it is), it is bad for your hair as well in long term use. Of course when you start to use it, your hair feels amazing, and bouncy and detangled. But use it regularly long term, I am sure the denatured alcohol will fry your hair.

But here it is super late right before Thanksgiving and I need nice hair tomorrow. I’ve never heard of lamellar water before so this was really interesting and informative! I’d be really interested if you did a video about scalp exfoliators. I found a physical scalp exfoliator by Nexxus (saw it recommended in Canadian Living magazine last summer) and because I have an extremely sweaty head/oily scalp I did notice a positive change when I first started using it. I incorporate it into my routine as necessary, usually about once a week, but sometimes more depending how sweaty I’ve gotten lol anyway, I’d be curious to know your take on such a product! Also, I have oily skin and have had pretty good results with using products containing salicylic acid on my face.. I think I’ve seen some scalp specific products containing salicylic acid and I’m wondering if it might have the same effect on my scalp (helping reduce oiliness). Your channel has changed the way I take care of my hair so I really value your insight 😊💞
