This episode was so disappointing! The writers could have made any one else A with a better explanation. Hell CeCe could have been A and they could have done it differently. They could have made CeCe a lover of Charles and that was her motive. Yet they make her Charles and they have her date her brother. That's fucked up on so many levels. All of this sucked in my opinion. Sara Harvey being red coat and the black widow was so frustrating. Black widow clearly isn't end game like Marlene said. The Black widow was just a random person whom we didn't even truly meet until 6x01. I'm so upset with this reveal. I agree with you guys when you say the only enjoyable moment in this episode was Emily slapping Sara. I wish they would have saved the Ezra reveal and let him be Charles.
Still pissed about this. They went wrong when they chose shock factor above having a reveal that stands strong and is realistic. Fans always prefer the latter. A lot of shows make this mistake. They think they need to surprise and shock everyone. It’s not a bad thing people figured it out. It’s supposed to be like that. If the show os not realistic with a million more plotholes than normal shows, you could just have the main character come ride in on a unicorn, because once it’s unrealistic there is no difference. And finally, the sad part is they won’t learn from this. It feels so arrogant to be all defensive and do damage control. They literally could have googled the basic principles of mystery writing. Nr 1: make the baddie someone big from the start. It’s really cheating to write a mystery show for years and to introduce a throw away character in the last season and make them two out of three antagonists. That way I can write a mystery show too, that’s fucking cheating. Rule nr 2: make the motive strong as hell. This might be the most important one. Because they failed to do this the reveal falls incredibly flat. It lacks the emotional depth. They say the most interesting villains are the ones you relate with and feel for. Nobody felt bad for CeCe. Boo hoo you were in a mental institution and you went ahead and stalked these girls. The writers should have wrote that the girls ruined cece and sara’s lives. That would have at least made it more interesting and less flat. Sara Shepard the writer of the books KNOWS all crucial elements and nails them. Marlene King and co know how to write drama and romance but they have FAILED massively at writing mystery and should never do so again. Their arrogance and laziness has hindered them from just hiring a consultant or googling the BASIC PRINCIPLES of mystery writing.
My brother and I were talking about this episode and one thing he's said (and he's been saying this since a few seasons back) and I totally agree with him now, is the writers of this show had NO CLUE who they wanted to make A from the beginning so they kept giving us different suspects to see how it would turn out and now they realize they have no way of tying everything all together. So basically they were just winging it this whole time.

There were so many plot holes, and the backstory to Toby's mothers death pissed me off to the point where I thought I was going to throw myself out of the window. Another plot hole I haven't seen mentioned yet: In 3.12, after Emily kills Nate, why did A/CeCe call Emily and say "I owe you one" for getting Garrett out of jail, but Marlene says Wilden randomly killed Garrett and was acting on his own. So why would A care? Also, what about the NAT club?

I completely agree, I've wasted 5 years of my life watching this, only to find out that A was someone we haven't even seen since like season 4?, some irrelevant storyline, about a transgender person, probably only trying to get the transgender people of the world to watch the show. We never got any answers, we got like 5? That's not a "summer of answers". I was very very disappointed. They pulled this whole thing out of their asses, to try and cover up the fact that Wren is actually A, and they're trying to pretend that the leaked spoilers weren't true. Also to have Sara Harvey??? Someone who's only been in less than 10 episodes, to be two of the 3 biggest antagonists on the show? Like it just doesn't make sense. And when that creepy little boy in the doll store in 2x24, said that a man and a woman came in, and something about Alison, WHO THE HELL WERE THEY TALKING ABOUT THERE?????? WHO WAS THAT MAN?????? They literally lost so many viewers tonight because nobody wanted this.

I can name a million things wrong with this episode! The one that really got me was Toby's mom. Fucking terrible. They could have made it a two hour finale, wrote a better script, and take the time to explain things!!! Each flashback was like 2 seconds. We don't know why Sara Harvey was Red Coat/Black Widow! We don't know who killed Mrs.D! What happened to Maya? All these questions that were supposed to be answered in this episode, were answered in an interview. I'm sorry Marlene but that brings low to a whole knew level. Could you be any worse to your fans. To the author of this book series. The people who took 5 years of their lives to devote their time to this show, to make theories and just... UGHHH!!!! They can just end the show here.

As someone who has been watching this show from the very beginning I completely feel you ladies! Thank you for keeping it real and stating your true feelings. I personally don't understand how people could have been satisfied with this episode given the many inconsistencies and contradicting story lines. I think it's embarrassing that the creator of this show had to go and do an interview to answer a series of questions that were never touched on. Not only is that embarrassing for her but it's kind of embarrassing to the fans that we like a show with so many plot holes and unrealistic storylines. It shows this episode had POOR writing and multiple flaws. I really thought they would have their shit together for this episode and gosh was I let down. I didn't find the actress who played A/CeCe to be compelling enough to make me feel bad for her. Also it was stated that Wilden was paid off to rule Marion's (Toby's mother) death a suicide but that doesn't make any sense considering Wilden would have been a child/teenager at that time. Blah I could go on and on but I share your feelings.

This episode was so disappointing! The writers could have made any one else A with a better explanation. Hell CeCe could have been A and they could have done it differently. They could have made CeCe a lover of Charles and that was her motive. Yet they make her Charles and they have her date her brother. That's fucked up on so many levels. All of this sucked in my opinion. Sara Harvey being red coat and the black widow was so frustrating. Black widow clearly isn't end game like Marlene said. The Black widow was just a random person whom we didn't even truly meet until 6x01. I'm so upset with this reveal. I agree with you guys when you say the only enjoyable moment in this episode was Emily slapping Sara. I wish they would have saved the Ezra reveal and let him be Charles.

Still pissed about this. They went wrong when they chose shock factor above having a reveal that stands strong and is realistic. Fans always prefer the latter. A lot of shows make this mistake. They think they need to surprise and shock everyone. It’s not a bad thing people figured it out. It’s supposed to be like that. If the show os not realistic with a million more plotholes than normal shows, you could just have the main character come ride in on a unicorn, because once it’s unrealistic there is no difference. And finally, the sad part is they won’t learn from this. It feels so arrogant to be all defensive and do damage control. They literally could have googled the basic principles of mystery writing. Nr 1: make the baddie someone big from the start. It’s really cheating to write a mystery show for years and to introduce a throw away character in the last season and make them two out of three antagonists. That way I can write a mystery show too, that’s fucking cheating. Rule nr 2: make the motive strong as hell. This might be the most important one. Because they failed to do this the reveal falls incredibly flat. It lacks the emotional depth. They say the most interesting villains are the ones you relate with and feel for. Nobody felt bad for CeCe. Boo hoo you were in a mental institution and you went ahead and stalked these girls. The writers should have wrote that the girls ruined cece and sara’s lives. That would have at least made it more interesting and less flat. Sara Shepard the writer of the books KNOWS all crucial elements and nails them. Marlene King and co know how to write drama and romance but they have FAILED massively at writing mystery and should never do so again. Their arrogance and laziness has hindered them from just hiring a consultant or googling the BASIC PRINCIPLES of mystery writing.

My brother and I were talking about this episode and one thing he's said (and he's been saying this since a few seasons back) and I totally agree with him now, is the writers of this show had NO CLUE who they wanted to make A from the beginning so they kept giving us different suspects to see how it would turn out and now they realize they have no way of tying everything all together. So basically they were just winging it this whole time.

There were so many plot holes, and the backstory to Toby's mothers death pissed me off to the point where I thought I was going to throw myself out of the window. This episode was a disappointment, and I am still in shock after this mess of a finale. I can't believe the network actually let this air...

Another plot hole I haven't seen mentioned yet: In 3.12, after Emily kills Nate, why did A/CeCe call Emily and say "I owe you one" for getting Garrett out of jail, but Marlene says Wilden randomly killed Garrett and was acting on his own. So why would A care? Also, what about the NAT club?

I completely agree, I've wasted 5 years of my life watching this, only to find out that A was someone we haven't even seen since like season 4?, some irrelevant storyline, about a transgender person, probably only trying to get the transgender people of the world to watch the show. We never got any answers, we got like 5? That's not a "summer of answers". I was very very disappointed. They pulled this whole thing out of their asses, to try and cover up the fact that Wren is actually A, and they're trying to pretend that the leaked spoilers weren't true. Also to have Sara Harvey??? Someone who's only been in less than 10 episodes, to be two of the 3 biggest antagonists on the show? Like it just doesn't make sense. And when that creepy little boy in the doll store in 2x24, said that a man and a woman came in, and something about Alison, WHO THE HELL WERE THEY TALKING ABOUT THERE?????? WHO WAS THAT MAN?????? They literally lost so many viewers tonight because nobody wanted this.

I can name a million things wrong with this episode! The one that really got me was Toby's mom. Fucking terrible. They could have made it a two hour finale, wrote a better script, and take the time to explain things!!! Each flashback was like 2 seconds. We don't know why Sara Harvey was Red Coat/Black Widow! We don't know who killed Mrs.D! What happened to Maya? All these questions that were supposed to be answered in this episode, were answered in an interview. I'm sorry Marlene but that brings low to a whole knew level. Could you be any worse to your fans. To the author of this book series. The people who took 5 years of their lives to devote their time to this show, to make theories and just... UGHHH!!!! They can just end the show here.

As someone who has been watching this show from the very beginning I completely feel you ladies! Thank you for keeping it real and stating your true feelings. I personally don't understand how people could have been satisfied with this episode given the many inconsistencies and contradicting story lines. I think it's embarrassing that the creator of this show had to go and do an interview to answer a series of questions that were never touched on. Not only is that embarrassing for her but it's kind of embarrassing to the fans that we like a show with so many plot holes and unrealistic storylines. It shows this episode had POOR writing and multiple flaws. I really thought they would have their shit together for this episode and gosh was I let down. I didn't find the actress who played A/CeCe to be compelling enough to make me feel bad for her. Also it was stated that Wilden was paid off to rule Marion's (Toby's mother) death a suicide but that doesn't make any sense considering Wilden would have been a child/teenager at that time. Blah I could go on and on but I share your feelings.
