Not 100% on the facts but a rough idea of Dave's background is i think his dad got deported when he was young, his mom was homeless etc for years, hes got two older brothers who don't get along and were both locked up when he was younger, on top of other things that seem to have put him through so much mentally at a young age that hes just so raw and emotional. He just has lyrics here and there that hit so hard when you know more about his background. I hate when people try compare Dave to other UK rappers, there's plenty of talented guys but IMO nobody touches Dave as a whole package. Hes got the story telling, the lyrics, consistency, meaningful songs, emotional songs, Drake feature at 18, played a big role in a popular TV show, makes beats, plays instruments, the list goes on. Plenty of UK rappers deserve their flowers for their contribution and impact on the scene, like Skepta is an obvious one, Wretch 32, Chip, Giggs, even newer rappers like Fredo, Central Cee etc but as far as im concerned nobody in UK rap comes close to Dave as a whole package and hes still so young. Assuming you're going down the Dave rabbit hole just know most of his best songs aren't his most viewed and most requested, there's so many that fly under the radar like environment, survivor's guilt, three rivers, god's eye, mercury, little bo peep, drama, adriano, we're all alone, psycho, screwface capital etc.
Dave is the best rapper out there right now. From anywhere. The only recommendation is listen to everything, i genuinely can't think of poor dave song.
