After that happens she is said to be wearing a white dress looking for kids in the streets of Mexico at night to capture them and bring them to the lake to drown them to remind herself of what she had done. That’s why that guy said if you’re a kid and you see la llorona to go inside your house or else she’ll get you. (Btw this is the story I grew up on other people can be told different versions of la llorona but this one is most popular) Edit: I forgot to mention that the reason she takes the kids is because she thinks it’s hers and takes them home and basically has a flashback of what she did not knowing she is doing it again to these children
