We installed a bigger bathroom exhaust fan and it basically stopped our mold issues in our shower. We found out that most home builders woefully undersize the exhaust fans. We also installed a fan wall switch with a built-in humidity sensor that turns the fan on and keeps it on until the set humidity level is reached. Good video! 😊
Thanks so much for all the great tips! Your videos always inspire me to clean smarter and not harder. Thanks for sharing your work with us! Hope you are well!
Little tip for leaving the bathroom fan spinning for 30 minutes after the shower. I have installed a timer switch. It has 6 buttons: 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 60 min and Off. When I start the shower, I just press on the 60 minutes button, so even for a long shower it will work during the shower and for more than 30 minutes after (note: my bathroom don't have any window, so I let the fan run for longer since it's the only thing drying up). The timer is also practical for after you do your business, you can leave the fan running for 5, 10, 15 minutes depending on how much it stinks 😉 Also, I replaced the fan a few years ago because it became noisy over time. I purposely installed a fan with much higher CFM rating than the one that was originally there, and more than necessary (you can find on the internet how much CFM is needed depending on the size of the bathroom; more doesn't hurt).
Yes! thank you I will definitely do these steps, made sense! of all places in my home, the kitchen and the bathrooms is top priority for me to make sure its clean. congrats on over 100k subs! before you know it, it will be 1M!
I keep a towel just to dry the shower stall walls. Never have to clean mold off. My brother uses a squeegee, but it doesn't dry as well as a towel. I took the shower doors off my tub,as they are a pain to clean, and went back to plastic shower curtains. They can be thrown in the washer to clean.
I stopped using bath rugs - too high maintenance keeping clean, so I buy shower mats and place on bathroom floor. Works great, because when it's time to clean them, I place them in the bathroom tub!
I have a slow leak behind the bathtub tap that I can't get to because it is inside wall. The rug on the other side in my bedroom is wet about 4 inches for the wall, the only way to stop the leak is to shut off the main water valve. How do I stop mold from forming on the rug?
I mean someone gotta be crazy to have a carpet inside a bathroom, surprised to hear that as a tip. I mean I've seen people use rugs for feet warmth if they like walking barefoot, but not sure if you ever seen anybody have carpets in the bathroom yourself given youre a cleaning expert. Great tips tho
A person I know had a rug that completely covered her bathroom floor. Gross for all sorts of reasons especially around a toilet because you can't just throw it in the washer every few days to clean and get pee smell out.Especially when they had multiple boys in the home.
I thought closing the shower curtain prevents the folds of the curtain from getting moldy? I just learned this and spent weeks reminding my family to close it. Will be embarassing if I have to go back and tell them to open it again.
It's a situation where you can just try both ways and use the method that works best for your particular bathroom. The goal is to get as much moisture out after the shower. Choose the method that accomplishes that goal 🙂 The good thing is you can always wash your shower curtain when you wash your door mats.

You are gonna have to remove that rug until the leak gets fixed. That rug has to stay dry otherwise it will form mold.
