Yay glad my package finally got there, I brought way too much and coukd have done 2 boxes at least but it was over £30 to send one box and I'm not made of money lol. I was getting worried as I knew there were some bits close to date. However, I'm really glad you like the smell of my house 🤣🤣🤣

Years ago I sent a box to Pennsylvania and it cost me £50, the same as I spent on the stuff inside. When I was told that I wanted so badly to just leave and not bother. But this friend was getting married at the time and I thought it would be a nice gift of things from the UK. I sent it, but I wish I’d of known ahead of time. I haven’t sent anything since.

My mum worked at Cadbury factory. It diversified into other products as it grew.. One of these was developing Angel Delight. My mum joined a taste test programme and bought Angel. Delight powder home for the family to taste and comment on. So at the age of 12 I helped in its development way back in 67! My brother and I lived Near Cadbury and my whole family worked there over the generations. I even have the word Chocolate written on my birth certificate as dad's job was a Chocolate Buyer. My mum left Cadbury in 1950 because she got married. Her Wedding Bible holds the signature that adorns all bars still the cursive Cadbury logo signed by George Cadbury himself. ❤😂

Now there's a sentence you'll never here any adult in the UK say.
"I've never had curry". That's so weird, and don't judge curry by some super noodle chemicalflavouring, a real curry is a thing of beauty. I make my own very often. A lot of British people have the spices etc... to make their own at home. There are also thousands of Incian restraunts in the UK. Most popular takeaway meals are Indian and Chinese, others like Pizza are miles behind.

Totally agree with this, it's unheard of in the UK. Judge not a curry by flavoured noodles! They're bland. There are so many types and intensities of curries out there for you to try. The accompaniments are delicious too. Pakoras, bhajis, & samosas are The Law over here.

Glaswegian here. Thought I'd be your translator/guide for the food items! 😅
    - Doon yer piehole basically translates to down the hatch (down the piehole).
    - Scottish Tablet - absolutely delightful stuff. Basically pure sugar but man, it's tasty. You can just eat directly - it's like a 'hard' fudge but it melts in your mouth.
    - The diabetes/tooth rot is more just because we enjoy high sugar sweets and treats in Scotland... that and deep fried stuff, including Pizza (A full or half pizza dipped in batter and deep fried. It's called a pizza crunch and is top tier).

Hi Both! The SMITHS Salt n Shake are actually a simulation of the original English Crisps (to you chips) there should be a small packet of salt in the bag (in the original it was blue paper screwed up so you had to un ravel it) that you open carefully and sprinkle in the bag, then shake it to mix the salt with the crisps. Great for the kids in the 50s and 60s searching your bag for your salt.
AAAAaahhhhhh!!!! The “Caramel” conundrum!!! it’s pronounced “Ka Ra” “Mel” not Carmel that’s why it’s spelt Caramel (as in English). Oh! I’m sorry you speak American, in that case your forgiven because of your problem!

Just one thing about the Angel Delight: it's mixed with half a pint of milk. That's a British half pint which is more than an American half pint, so you need to make sure you've used enough milk. A British half pint is equal to about 300ml metric.

The bag of Henderson's snacks are made in Sheffield where I live. There's also a Henderson's Relish (we call it Hendo's here) which is great with any savoury foods and is a liquid condiment. It's both vegan and gluten-free, so is a really tasty sauce that people with gluten problems and people that don't consume animal products can eat. It used to be only available in Sheffield (I hadn't heard of it before I moved here in 1989 and I only came from the next town along), but it can be ordered online now and you can sometimes find it at farmer's markets (for a big price mark-up). I keep intending to send you a bottle on, which I will get round to. you can use it in dark gravy, soup, stews, on fish and chips and loads of other savoury foods. It's lovely!

Found this little tip in an online review for the mini Henry ' You have to remember the filter (it looks like part of the packaging) place it behind the motor, in this way you get the motor to suck.'

Angel delight is uk version of USA pudding. You get milk, pour in the Angel delight powder (which comes in a few different flavours) and mix/whip. You will eventually get a bowl of pudding.

I've had a red Henry for around 30 years now. I don't use a bag in him. He was was used to clean out the mouse cages when I bred mice. Stinky mouse pee damp shavings, plu spilled food, he sucks up the parrot cages *and* the cat litter trays, all with a smile on his face.
When he's emptied I wash him out, wash the filter , then put a few drops of lavender oil on it before putting it back. I also run water through the hose to clean it out.
My first Henry lasted 18 years. Now there's a whole family of them including Hetty.
The company which makes Henry is called Numatic.

Omg Angel Delight! That's brought back memories! It was huge in the 70s - it's a dessert - from what I can remember you add milk and whip it up. Imo strawberry and butterscotch are the best flavours 😊❤✌

The Scottish snacks are fire. Tablet is hard and crumbly - it's not squidgy like fudge and you eat it straight up. I think its way better than fudge.

I'm soooo jealous that u got "Tablet", I'm a Scot living in Ireland and they don't do it here.😬 It's similar too fudge but not chewy, can't wait to hear what u think of it. As for the Tunnocks Tea cakes, caramel wafers & caramel logs I've had them since I was a nipper and still love them. Great vid again guys.
PS I'm pretty sure the guy who sent u them was Wullie pronounced Wuh-lay, hope that helps.

Lol Isambard Kingdom Brunell was a very eminent engineer in England. He build a series of important bridges including the bridge over river Tamar which seperates cornwall from Plymouth.
(My mother and father both come from St Budeaux, right next to the river)
