That is basically what I carry bike-packing plus bike repair tools and supplies. For day rides, it’s a mini bike repair and first aid kit, rain jacket, electrolytes, energy bars, water badder, bike head,Ishtar/flashlight, battery pack for my phone, a trail map and a mini-compass. In the dead of summer in SE Texas, I also carry a chemical ice pack and a hand fan to cool off quickly in case of heat exhaustion (which I had to use once).

That was cool. Keeping it simple. I think everyone is expecting you to pull out something magical that will answer all bush craft problems. Lol. You would have to jump out of the bag to do that. Keep up the great work and keep teaching us.

Hello Dave I noticed that you have dust in the back of the jeep. I found a product called rock guard it on amazon it goes across the space in between the tailgate an bed. It works great an is just a flexible rubber strip that comes with a adhesive an is placed on the inside of the tailgate an bed of the jeep. Great video, an its good to see you back on your feet. God bless.

I’ll be be getting around to making up something like this soon. I have most of the gear but no small pack. I’ve been toying with the idea of using piece a large diameter PVC plumbing pipe with a screw on end cap at each end and just a waist belt to carry it on my hips. It would guarantee that everything inside stays dry and maybe it could serve as a floatation device if it’s a large enough diameter.

That is a nice EDC pack and you do have the necessary items in it when away from home or training, David. I have an EDC bag, but don't carry it with me all the time when I am out walking around my area. My full backpack is loaded with the necessary items I would need when out camping though including the compass for navigation and the extra folding knife for food prep and for emergency use as well.

These earlier versions of the Rucker were so much better as an all purpuse utilitarian bag - edc or outdoors. The 4.0 is too much specilized to weightplaits and Goruck events with all that padding.

I like it, totally agree with your thought process. I really cringe watching videos of the ultra light backpackers or worse folks that go out with nothing. I see it like Russian roulette, “hey there are five empty chambers” yes there is, good luck to you.
