I was in high school when these n--gas came out. To this day I wonder how in the hell they never get mentioned when it comes to top 5 or top 10 lists. EPMD was fire in the 80s and continued to do dope sh-t in the 90s.

Hip hop born in the 70s, matured in the 80s and died in the 90s. At this point Hip hop needs resurrection.

Nah, you can't resurrect hip hop, because 80s hip hop was just the last dying breath of seventies funk and dance music recycled. It wasn't uncommon for rap groups to sample an R&B song that only came out a couple years prior. Eric B Is President in 86 used the bassline from Over Like A Fat Rat from 82. Fat Rat was still fresh on our minds, so President came off like a fresh remix.
But today without the real musicians making funk, jazz, rock and dance music for the DJs to sample and remix, the rappers are trying to make their own beats, and they sound like computerized garbage.
