- This isn’t the first time I’ve driven one of these fantastic cars, but it is the first time since owning mine - so it’s a good opportunity to compare, and to see IF it’s actually worth the upgrade for me!

We will never be able to replicate this enjoyment in electric cars. Yes they’re fast but there’s so much more to it in order to feel connected. Got to enjoy them and keep hold of them as long as possible

Electric cars have along way to go. Check out RIPSS Ford Falcon destroked to 3.7 L 2200hp street legal does 7s 1/4 mile alot faster than electric cars.
Great vid!👍 yeah gonnna keep my low mileage RS500 for years to come. Bought it in 2012, with 4500 km(2800miles) now it has done 6750 km(4200 miles). All the best to all MK2 RS owners out there, and others as well😄 from me in Norway

The car's in stunning condition....love the nice pops from the exhaust ....a much more frequent occurance with the 375 kit fitted over the standard set up...like you say as the years pass be a much more of a rarity on our roads....always gives me a smile when I see one on the road...

I had a standard one new when I worked at Ford and covered 15,000 miles in just over 12 months (RS09FAN if anyone still owns it). I currently have a Mountune Clubsport MR375, it's simply stunning.
I know of an RS10FAN & RS02FAN - close but no cigar!haha. Hopefully mine will be MR375 very soon 😊

I completely get it and theres many of us out there. Ive just got myself a facelift mk2 ST and im absolutely smitten myself, i had a mk3 st and regretted selling it for years but the mk2 5 cylinder engine is just something else. Anyway best wishes bud and keep your genuine videos up, youre obviously a nice guy and any footage of that car is welcome!

Hi Bud spoke to you about 6 months ago about getting a mk2, Had to stop looking for 4 months as been very ill , But on the mend and started looking again a couple of months ago, Today finally found one but it’s not for sale till end of next month, It’s UG 2010, it’s a MR 420 Clubsport, 12k from new,1 owner ,Full ford History, It’s cleaner than new on the underside, I’ll try and send some pics when I’ve collected it,Drew

What roads are those mate? Fantastic roads and what an incredible car to do it in. I'm 23 and when these came out, too young to be able to get one and now they're rocketing in value! I've got a 2019 Golf GTI TCR, fantastic on that road, but just won't have the same amazing soundtrack and engagement that you would from one of these. Testament to such an old car. Fantastic, just fantastic.
It’s the B1053 from Finchingfield to Braintree 👍🏻👍🏻 I do love a TCR. Great as a daily! The Mk2 RS is just something special though 😊

I’m mainly jealous of the fact you’ve got a beautiful road and not a single car in your way 😂 so lucky. Every time I find my golden road I’m always stuck behind 20 cars going 5mph under no matter the time of day … lovely car. Best colour IMO. That 5 pot is incredible
😂😂 perks of mid week driving lol. I did get lucky though, only had to perform one overtake!haha.
And most of all...nothing to remplace this glorious period of cars. And we are stuck with it

@@CarFocused It's nice to have something to aim for. I'd like to go stage 2 on the Leon, but realistically I'm looking at about 3 grand to get there and considering the power gain I'd be getting, it's not really worth it.
@@CarObsession yea I’d say probably not worth it too, plus I think it’ll probably upset the balance of the car a bit. All too easy to be greedy with more power 🙈

Try an innerscrub glove with some leather cleaner on the steering wheel of yours. It will get back to exactly the same condition, this one is in. 👍

What kind of exhaust mods was he running? Did he have a decat or sports cat? Just wondering as that’ll definitely impact the pick up. Throttle sensitivity mapping too 👌🏼

No mate he did it himself - it’s not too hard to do. A great mod too!
Best mod ever for a mk2 RS. Makes you realise how high the standard seat is

i put a rs engine and turbo in my 2010 st dynod at 395hp it was amazing but always wanted more power.miss that car alot

@CarFocused get your rs to 420 it doesn't take alot of mods and transforms the car
@@clarke89 I just don’t think it needs that much mate - plus you then start burning out the clutch etc and forging becomes more of a necessity.
thanks for your video, i can't stand the mk3 rs, i want a mk2.. looks heaps better with the 3 doors too! here in australia we now only get the mk8 fiesta st as a 5 door and it looks crap as a 5 door IMO. still got my mk7 fiesta st 3 door, almost had it for 10 years since brand new now.. id love to buy a mk2 focus rs tho!

2mins up the road from me. They are proper RS roads around there. Take one out on Bilstein’s b16’s. So much better than the Eibachs. I’ve had mine from new 13yrs ago

Awesome car. Altho my ST has 90k on it and there’s no rattles or squeaks so u might wanna look into that on ur RS
ST is a softly sprung car whereas the RS is very firm and just loosens trim up over time. My Mk3 was developing interior rattles at 2 years old!lol. Mine isn’t horrendous but there is the odd squeak and rattle hear and there - got a new one in the center console recently 🙈
Lovely example. I know youre set on your mountune X,Y and Z but 375bhp can be achieved far cheaper elsewhere, cheaper than the ridiculous price of the collins or mountune 6 bar fuel pump alone.

Yea I know man but I’m close now and I have the badge ready to go on 🤣
@@13965082 custom remap from the likes of Sabre can map these engines using the original 4 bar fuel pump, just you need bigger injectors to make up some of the difference in terms of fuel supply. For example my mk2 ST has 550cc bosch injectors which are bigger than the original RS ones, runs 374bhp. On an RS youd need the usual supporting mods - 3" turbo back exhaust, stage 1 or 2 RS intercooler, plenum as well as the bigger injectors. Not sure if the original RS airbox would be a problem but an open cone or mountune airbox would help
