I know this is an older video but I'd thought I'd comment. I've done this and when it comes time to remove the stripper fill a 5 gallon bucket halfway with water, get a some long rubber gloves and a brush and submerge the piece in the water and scrub the stripper off with the brush. The water dilutes and kinda neutralizes the stripper, it works like a charm.
Good video! Great tip for saving time on our old bikes. Sanding and polishing sucks the life out of me when there's so much else needing attention during a resto.
Great time saver, I’ve spent, seems like hours, over the years sanding that stuff off. Below a fella said it will yellow without the clear coat. Mine never did that. A little wax Once in a while, is all you need. Great tip
The factory applies that clear coat to prevent the aluminum from oxidizing and pitting. If you leave it unprotected, it will start to oxidize very quickly and look terrible.
trick I use for the gasget removel is to contact cemement some good 220 to a marble tile and rub the cover on it until its gone...…….. take care not to over sand...this also flattens your covers out 100% giving a good seal... I do this to a lot of parts like the heads … rock hard ride free my sisters and Brothers

Not the hero we ever expected
I will try this out this weekend on mine. Heck of alot easier than dealing with sanding.

I hope it works as well for you as it did for me. Good luck and let me know

Forgot to reply back, but I did this a couple weekends ago. It worked out well for me. Appreciate the helpful video.
Would you be willing to share a vid of bench starting one the engines you have on the stands?
like the pipes. they look like would keep your feet warm in the winter.
I'm guessing the chopped exhaust blisters your feet after a few hrs riding ..
Any chance of posting a video of your bike running? Curious how that exhaust sounds as I’m trying to decide what I want to do on my bike I’m restoring
