Not sure if you saw my previous message. I answered you the other day but it seems to have disappeared 😢 There are a ton of videos about both the tempera paint sticks and the gel paint sticks. They are similar but the tempera ones dry almost immediately while the gel ones give you more time before drying and are watersoluble. (Think of the tempera ones as if an oil pastel and a marker had a baby.) Try kwik stix 14 skin color tempera paint sticks. Fantastic. I recommend trying both kinds of paint sticks: gel & tempera, in different colors. Keep in mind, the brands are similar quality so don't feel you have to buy the expensive ones. Can't wait to see what you think!

Karlīna have you tried tempera paint sticks? I would highly recommend. They would match with your flat gouache style.
