Sorry for the long post but maybe someone will find it useful. As a BDK main, I was very hyped about the tier set and have been testing it on the PTR. Unfortunately, UE does not proc from the tier set Vamp Blood procs. When you're running the Umbilicus Eternus talent, it makes it so that when you manually use the Vampiric Blood cooldown itself, you get a buff called "Umbilicus Eternus", which has a spell ID of 391519. This buff lasts for the duration of your Vampiric Blood, which can change depending on if you are running Improved Vampiric Blood. Assuming you have 2 points Improved Vampiric Blood, that would be 14 seconds. So you get that buff for 14 seconds, which is just storing the amount of damage done by Blood Boil. Once that buff goes away, you get a new Umbilicus Eternus buff, which has a spell ID of 391527. This buff is the absorb itself. The free tier set procs of Vampiric Blood DO NOT proc the UE buff, so you do not get UE shield. If you've used Vamp Blood and you get a proc, it does extend the duration of Vamp Blood but it does not impact UE because UE is it's own 14 second buff before turning into the absorb, which isn't impacted by the increase of VB duration from the proc. As for the uptime of VB, I did testing on the two raid bosses they had open today and on the test dummies in the 10.1 PTR, here are my results. I hit the target dummies for three minutes. Utilized DRW, ERW, Tombstone, Death Strike, and a Tanking dummy to get as much CDR as possible, rune generation, etc. Over ten attempts, the average uptime of VB purely from tier set procs without using Vamp Blood itself was 30% (54 seconds). Over ten attempts, the average uptime of VB from tier set procs AND using Vamp Blood was 66% (2 minutes, 4 seconds). As I said, these stats are from three minutes encounters in a perfect scenario. In a real situation, like M+, you'll likely be holding Vamp Blood sometimes for the next pull, or a specific boss mechanic. The uptime of Vamp Blood in M+ will probably end up being somewhere around 45-50% While I wish it was a GOAT tier set and absolutely OP like the Season 3 and 4 tier set of Shadowlands, it's just not on that level. I think most high end BDK's agree that it's good, but not out of this world giga OP or anything.
Considering I play blood DK and prot pally…. I’m pretty pumped lol. For me, avengers shield is more of a threat grab / cc on large groups of adds. Something to be saved and timed for greatest effect vs. something to be used to build resources. But I’m no expert or even close.
I think it will work fine with umbilicus. As it stands, we rarely get the full duration of umbilicus because our incoming damage breaks the shield. A 5 second vamp blood shield will break much quicker than the baseline 10 second or improved 14 second one would. If I were to implement it, vamp blood procs that happen while Umbilicus is active will add to the shield and refresh the duration once over, if, the current umbilicus holds up long enough to be added to Great video metro!
Hey Metro, Really like that they are going for more interesting set bonuses from what we had so far (random stat bonuses, for some classes). Resto druids will get some really insane set bonuses next season!
I think Umbilicus is a seperate buff that gets applied whenever you pop Vamp Blood. I think it's also possible to cancel the buff before your Vamp's over to get the shield early. Hopefully this doesn't mean BDKs need a cancel buff macro next patch because it keeps getting refreshed. BDK set bonus looks awesome. A ton more damage + a ton more survivability and rewarding players for saving runes to heartstrike as much as possible for when Vamp Strength is up sounds like a ton of fun.
You're right with Vengeance charred warblades. Heal 3% of all fire damage you deal. Forgot about that so now I'm debating staying on my Vengeance or BDK now that I'm starting to learn it.
For prot pally 4pc bonus, we also have a talent related to Grand Crusader, which resets 1 judgment charge when it procs, so... each time a judgment crits, the cd is gonna get refunded, which is a free holy power (aka more SotR/WoG), plus a 2% strength buff (another talent), and also more damage and healing for the 2pc. Without doing any kind of min-maxing math, the tier sounds good but also really annoying to play with. But most importanly, Divine Toll stonks
The reason last stand was good for warriors in bfa had nothing to do with azerite traits. Anger management was also reducing the cd on last stand back then, making it a very good cd combined with bolster for shield block uptime issues you had back then, but they removed the anger management cd reduction on last stand since shadowlands.
Blood dk definitely seems like the winner here. i could see prot warriors also being big but that depends on then tuning and how much damage the 4 set does. prot warriors 2 set looks pretty good too
Kinda wish they gave Marrowrend/other Bone Shield generating abilities some more love. I think Marrowrend should also have a chance to proc vamp blood and extend it's duration by 1 second because it costs 2 runes.
Divine toll is getting even more fun to press? Hell yea! My only concern is that the heal component may not be much value added. Since toll already grants a large absorb shield, how much of this HoT will be lost to overhealing? I suppose it will just enable larger pulls since you'll have even more up tankiness at the start. I already like prot because it has little to no ramp up time, you're just immediately tanky going into most large pulls so long as you have sentinel + toll.
@OneAzerothTV Hopefully that's a bug. I can't see this set having that much value unless it interacts with divine toll and the divine resonance upgrade. It will be interesting to see your thoughts after you play a bit of prot in the coming patch.
Blackout kick hits grant a stack of mastery and the critical hits proc one of our talents elusive footwork that gives 2 additional stacks of mastery so 3 in total with this and another talent Pretense of instability that gives 15% dodge after drinking a brew and baseline dodge it's likely to be capped instantly we have a lot of passives and cooldowns that give mastery too so probably wont be stacking mastery past a base level I'd say elusive footwork is most useful single target because in cleave we have another talent shadowboxing treads which makes blackout kick hit 3 targets these all proc your mastery so in aoe the crits don't matter because you'll likely be capped anyway so I do really like the bonus and I'm excited to play around with it
Regarding Avenger's Shield; depending on your build of course, I have no issue building holy power and using Avenger's Shield whenever it's available, though that isn't always the right play. The 4 piece bonus seems kinda meh on the surface but it means you can get away with spamming shield more often, therefore increasing it's damage and survivability benefits while still having it available for an interrupt or gathering up that next group of mobs. All in all, I think the set bonuses will do a great job of enhancing both the effectiveness and the fantasy of the spec without requiring you to make changes to how you build or play it. I'm looking forward to it.
Possible mastery goes up for brewmaster but unlikely it outvalues Verse and certainly not Crit as we just constantly have brawler stacks already. We’ll have to see how it plays out but this is very likely not something that affects our rotation very much at all since we typically press RSK within 2 global if it coming off CD. It’s almost entirely passive and almost entirely offensive. It’s a pretty boring but strong set. I’m WAY more excited for Prot Pally tbh.
BrM: RSK and BlK do reduce cooldown on brews, BLK gains 2 stacks of elusive on a crit Extra damage from BlK isn't bad, it's main rotation ability. 10% chance to not reset dodge chance, eh. not super exciting. 4-set could probably not run that and be fine. gain extra elusive brawler from RSK is OK. the second part i'm not sure about, is it using all charges at once or one at a time? It does promote pulling a lot I think depending on how it works. big pulls you dodge a lot.
I can't decide if I should stick with my brew/wind or just play blood/uh next patch with these tier sets. Monk set is shit, set bonus and appearance wise

Thanks for testing and posting all that. Makes sense that umbilicus doesn't function with this honestly. Would be insanely op.
Thank you for keeping us updated! 🎉 Right now i don’t know who will be my season two tank 😮
Sounds good man, well plenty of time to think about it. Lemme know if you have any questions.
Considering I play blood DK and prot pally…. I’m pretty pumped lol. For me, avengers shield is more of a threat grab / cc on large groups of adds. Something to be saved and timed for greatest effect vs. something to be used to build resources. But I’m no expert or even close.
sweet man, well I'm glad you are excited! Thanks for weighing in either way

Great video metro!
oh wow your idea is insane!

Oh ya, I keep hearing Resto Druids' is good. Glad to hear!
So you nailed my first worry. If Vamp blood is always up you never get your harry potter buff, umbilicus eternus! Lol
My second worry was just that dks would stack haste again and spam heart strike but with a .5s gain that seems very unlikely.
Ya, remains to be seen how this plays out, but I suppose you can always do a cancel aura.
Yes cancelaura works
im happy you got big set buffs. you earned it :)
Haha idk about that but thanks!

Ya, you could cancel it too, good call!
If you cancel it now you get 30% extra shield on it from the buff vamp blood gives you so technically you should be using a cancel aura right now
@@jp5125 holy moly that's a great tip thanks
oh yeah baby, got that vamp blood coursing through my veins almost 100% of the time
Blood Death Knight, literally.
You're right with Vengeance charred warblades. Heal 3% of all fire damage you deal.
Forgot about that so now I'm debating staying on my Vengeance or BDK now that I'm starting to learn it.

Ah I see, so enforcing some talents. That makes sense. I have heard this does not work with Divine Toll though on the ptr.
@@heythereguysitsMetro oh that's a shame, i hope is a bug

I see. I can't remember what I was thinking about honestly.

Glad others agree. Seems like Bloods might even be OP honestly.

I think they dont want to encourage spamming that spell. Its a sore spot of the design I'd imagine. Very clunky.
If it works with umbilicus eternus then it will be extremely broken, also i assumed the 2 piece would have some kind of internal cooldown
Ya I mean why wouldn't it? I imagine its them trying to push more people into defensive talents.
Divine toll is getting even more fun to press? Hell yea! My only concern is that the heal component may not be much value added. Possibly, but I was told it does not function with divine toll atm. Only the actual spell itself.

Hmm well play what you identify with the most, regardless of strength. That's my recommendation always.
They nerfed it! :(
huh?
Maul / raze build is only viable in raid environment. In M+ its horrid. Why yu du dis, blizz? (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
hmm ya idk
