  • Revisting Paradroid by Hewson Consultants, written by the legendary Andrew Braybook.
When Paradroid was released in 1985 there was nothing like it at the time. I remember playing the game for hours and hours, exploring all the levels of the ship.
What makes this shoot'em up unique is that you can transfer and take over other robots. When doing so you take part in a puzzle type game where you have to take control by winning more rows in your colour than the other robot.
It's one of my favourite C64 games and I loved revisiting it. I was able to explore a few levels before coming up against a level 700+ battle droid!
What are you memories of Paradroid?

As I recall, the terminals (the device you access at 3:40) will also provide information about the various classes of droids with numbers lower than the one you're currently controlling. I used to get in control of the 999 droid and then read up on all the droid information... didn't do much else in the game though 😅

Well done for taking control of a 999 droid. I remember playing the game and not really getting that far! I simply enjoyed exploring the various levels on the ship for hours and hours. Thanks for watching.
