officially the City of Roxas, is a 3rd class city and capital of the province of Capiz, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 167,003 people.
Originally known as the Municipality of Capiz (from which the province derives its name), the area became a chartered city on May 12, 1951, and was renamed in honor of native Manuel Acuña Roxas, the fourth President of the Philippines and the first of the independent post-American Third Philippine Republic.
After Iloilo City, it is the second center of education, trade, economic activities and logistics on the island of Panay. The abundance of marine life makes Roxas City the "Seafood Capital of the Philippines." The Department of Health (DOH) awarded the city with the Red Orchid Award for being "100 percent tobacco-free". Ang linis linis ng Roxas.
I am an ILONGO natural born and raised in Passi, City ILOILO BUT NOW lived in the USA! i the early days of my time while still living in Passi, Iloilo our province was connected and accessable by Train, yet I never had been in Capiz!
Very nice, just went back to the Philippines (summer 2018, 2nd time) since 1984. Born and raised in USA and so when I first visited, it was such a great experience. My father is from Capiz and to hear your stories growing up there kind of brought a tear to my eye having heard my Dad's stories. I was able to bring my wife and youngest son (I wish my eldest and my middle son had come too) and so I was glad to have them see the different culture. I had such a great time seeing my relatives that I realized that I missed them very much. I definitely will not wait another 35 years to go back to visit (I think that I'll go back every 5 years or so). Thanks for the history lesson too!
Love this. My mum is from Panitan.
wow.. its been 9 years i've never visit roxas city anymore.. i've missed every single thing.. we used to play at marcs playground during my younger days.. our house were located in front of borda's beach house which was beside patring store before.. the white bonggalow one.. looking forward for my next year homecoming... from airport to avenue to villareal stadium all throughout to baybay marcs.. truly amazing.... kahilidlaw...
Hi Sandy nice to see u...do u still remember us?
Love your channel, thanks for bringing an African American Houstonian along your journey back home. Even if I'm watching this a year later.
Thanks so much my friend. This is Pinoy Captain America.
Sobra akong naka relate sa story mo, I love Roxas City, the place where I grew up. I'm only 3 months old ng dinala kami ng Tatay ko sa province nila dyan sa Capiz. I have so many happy memories during my childhood days in that place but at the age of 15 (1975) we have to go back to Manila for good. I really cried when we left there because I will miss my school mates in Purisima where I studied from 1st yr to 3rd yr high school, our Lola Daleng (not our real Lola) who took care of us and my siblings. I was only able to go back in Capiz last 2008 when together with my officemates went to Boracay and we stopped over to Roxas City, we stayed there for 3 days, 1 day in Iloilo and 1 day in Boracay. Thanks for sharing your experience. I just happened to see your vlog today, hope you will continue it
Thank u so much. I hope u can visit Roxas City again.

It looked like you really needed this trip for closure and things. Great job😘💜💜💜
Thank you Latae! There is so much things going on with me and my younger son! I have done so much already its time to let him go and let him fly on his own wings. I am still hurting Dad! but its time to moved on and have my life back, which I have been paused for 18 years to be a Father. He never sees all my struggles in life just to give everything until to what he is now. Now I am also Free! Miss you Latae. Hugs!
Prinz Elliot yea... that’s a sucky situation to be in. But I know your a great dad and you’ve given him every opportunity to be great now you just have to let him figure it out on his own.☹️

Capiz government. Kindly focus much on improving your province. You move very slowly. Look at the other provinces around you. They are almost far ahead. Your towns are just like old towns of 1970's. Dusty...
No good experience.
