How did I miss this???? One of my favorite Ian tunes. If you remember I have spent a lot of time in hospitals and have gone home with a few nurses. I used to play this in the 70’s. Love it Doc.
Wonderful to hear about your travels and band reunion. The band reunion must be a fun weekend for sure. That was an exceptional tutorial Doc. One of my favorite Tull songs. Sounds simple enough, until you expose those little Ian nuances. Very much appreciated. Stay safe.
We laughed for 5 minutes straight trying to start "Oh Darling." Every time we hit the augmented chord to start we would just crack up, don't know why it was so funny.
Great to get this one explained, I've been unable to get the picking in at the same time as keeping the stumming going👍 love it. I also love hearing of your travels, great!! Keep it coming.👍
one of the very first Tull tunes I ever had a go at. Of course, you do it right! i slide right up at the end instead. Thanks doc, for your everlasting style!
Great to have you back Doc. Was hoping that nothing untoward had happened. Being Italian, I enjoyed your pics of Italy and I love waterfalls and rock-pools, so please share more pics of your excursions in future tutorials.
Hi Doc, just playing this number while my wife gets herself ready as we're going to see Ian tonight @ The Lowry Theatre in Salford Quays near Manchester UK. I've been a fan some 50yrs and have been to too many Tull concerts to count. This could well be the last time I go to see Ian perform. Love your tutorials. Kev V. Glossop, Derbyshire, England.
Great show, just a little disappointed there were no acoustic guitar numbers, all flute. Jack Clark on electric guitar was awesome. Full house once again.@@snoozedoctor
Snooze doctor, what a great discovery on youtube. Great tutorial of a great song of a great band. But I see there is so much more from mr. Snoozedoctor. Many thanks, I have a lot to explore... Much appreciated and a hello from The Netherlands.
Thank you very much for your tutorials, I've loved Jethro Tull since the first time I heard them, in 1971. I have decided to restart guitar playing after watching your videos (I haven't touched a string in the last 30+ years). Also, glad you enjoyed your trip to the Dolomites, I go there every year, and they're as beautiful as you describe.
@@snoozedoctor well, next time you come to Italy let me know - Dolomites are a 4 hours drive from where I live, I'd be glad to spend some time with you.
Well deserved vacation I’m sure. Really enjoy hearing and seeing the details. When I think of Ian I think of this type song. Don’t get me wrong I love all the electronic too. Thanks for this classic. Well played
You're great. I love how how play the whole song at the beginning. There is a lot of times I just can't figure out one little part and don't need the whole tutorial. Thank you.
@@snoozedoctor you really have the Tull stuff down! His timing, grace notes, upstrumming, everything. Any chance you could do one on "Jack -a-lynn"? No tutorials on that one. Got most of if but there are a few missing parts.
Love it! Thanks for the tutorial. My newbie self worked on this for a few weeks, but I could never sync the rhythm with vocals and guitar. Listening to you play it slower motivates me to have another go at it.
I was the one that suggested this be one of your near future renditions, very nice. As far as the travelogue, please keep them coming. I'm very close to retirement and it seems we have many of the same interests. I love the outdoors and hiking and will be searching for new and interesting places to visit upon retirement. Although we all love music, its not the only thing that adds enjoyment to our life. Keep up the great work! I consider "snoozedoctor" Tull Central for a great guitar experience. Keep the travelogues coming, thanks again!
Thanks so much! The outdoors has been a life long passion for me. Luckily, my wife is even more fanatic about it. We'd done some marvelous treks and backpacking adventures. I'm glad you've found 'Tull central'. I'll try to keep them coming.
Glad you're back...been to long. Love the stories and especially the tutorials. PLEASE do one on "Just Trying To BE" Look forward to all your stuff!! Ian Anderson, probably one of the most underrated guitarists. Deserves more credit than he'll probably ever get. Thanks
Watched your video and I must say some people are interested in the whole video and your travels, so I am behind you with the comments to the rude ahole who isn't interested in your travels or what you grow in the garden. A nice breakdown of Nursie by the way. 😊
The trolls don't bother me much. I have pretty thick skin with that. You should see how many tabasco peppers I have ripening on my deck! That's the only place sunny enough for me to grow them. I love making hot sauce with them! Cheers!
I'll admit that I am at this video because a kid on Reddit was asking for song recommendations that are under 2 minutes for his final exam performance in his guitar class. I came across this song in a prog Forum of songs technically under a minute they were supposed to be submitted for but most of the songs were not under a minute. So I recommended in this song I link your video and I linked the ultimate guitar tab and the song. I think if he listens to it he'll actually like it. And probably do very good for the final because of this is perfectly up his alley I would say. I don't know him. I'm only speculating that, this is got a good chord structure to it while also adding in the melody Within the chords. all that which is really flavorful to me for the most part. It's not extremely Advanced but it's not extremely beginner. So if you're the redditor and you're reading this you're welcome enjoy
Even your voice is in the backround cause its a guitar tutorial, your singing fits the song so well and sounds very similar to the original recording. The tutorial is great as well too.🙂👍
He is an incredibly talented guitarist who definitely developed his own unique style. His alternate picking and ability to play fast arpeggios is amazing. His accuracy is what astounds me. He never misses a note in live performance. His vocals sit atop that complex playing so effortlessly. He was infamous in the studio for laying down his tracks in one or two takes. Considering what he was playing, that's incredible.
You can't please everyone and who really cares if some people don't like you. Trying to please everyone is a impossible task and attempting to please everyone will take away from what you want to do. If someone don't like it, kindly recommend they possibly start their own channel. That way it can be exactly the way that person intends it to be. Me personally I liked how you started the whole video that was neat because it makes you more human. There is a lot of people that are Say on RUclips that they're only about one thing and that's it you don't know anything about whatever else that they might like to do or something so that's all you ever know of that person really and it's very limiting on how you see that person then
I am Italian, glad you enjoyed the Dolomiti! I don't get why people have to be unpleasant, you are not interested just skip the bit. It's not like this is TV.
I told the fellow I would be happy to refund what he paid for the tutorial. Must be a miserable fellow. Where in Italy? I love Italy and can easily see myself spending a month there when my wife retires.
