The mentality that makes you blame fans for not liking your product is the beginning of the end. The concept of the fan-friendly alternative to WWE is what made AEW a thing in the 1st place. If Tony just keeps beating his drum, this company will become another TNA that gets constantly outshined by WWE's presence.
💯 Vince’s booking was always the worst when he started blaming the fans and counter programming them. When he listened and followed their lead he was at his best.

This was so sad. Tony acting like everything is fine in ROH/AEW when attendance and ratings are at all-time lows. But remember he'll tell you everything is "Great" Then he cries about being "attacked" for his booking and how unfair everyone is to him. Also of all things he later announced another belt for ROH which is a shell of itself and can't even support the belts they do have. On top of it being a new women's tv title, Women in AEW are lucky to get one match a week on Dynamite.
The way that the women feel totally segregated in aew is one of the worst things about it- not to mention the fact that a lot of their women wrestlers are way more interesting and entertaining than these nobody men they book all the time
I wish JUST ONE of the supposed journalists in attendance had called him out for trying to lie about Wembley. He was making claims about what was normal in the US, but the turnstile figure in the UK is a LEGAL REQUIREMENT. There is no lie in that figure, which makes his spin offensive to me. He can't even be honest when he has been shown to be wrong. No wonder the oxygen thieving skid mark can't learn...

So according to Tony Khan, AEW's competition seems to be mid 90s WCW, not WWE/NXT. I listened to the full thing and it was pretty absurd. Imagine if TK was facing a REAL press conference, getting grilled on AEW's failings, he would end up crying and storming out.
His only measure for ''success'' is star ratings and his opinion of what a great match/show is, not ratings or profits. This what happens when you arent self made.

Khan really needs to up his game because the chances he might lose wb is there. Raw is actually the more pleasing product right now because it has the better ratings and considering it's more geared towards a larger general and even casual audience. Also packaging both cody and punk on raw which wb really likes is the icing on the cake for that deal.
Dynamite has been stuck at 800k viewers for the past two years, so it all depends on what the network’s expectations are, what they’re willing to pay, and if advertisers are willing to stick around. AEW might be more bang for the buck because, at this point, the network could get it way, way cheaper than WWE programming even if it’s only getting half the viewers.
In all seriousness, have the media scrums ever added any value? You'd think with the Punk thing plus various other controversies they are a net detriment to the company.
The media scrums fluff Tony's ego. That's very important to him.

1. Warner Bros owns a 12 percent stake in CW so that’s not a good reason to not engage with them over ROH rights. Very suspect reason to not want to go there.
2. He’s been coached heavily as people his dad brought in a corporate speaking coach. It’s very obvious from where he was to recently he is doing exactly what they train you to do, talk about your many accomplishments, all your experience, your recent wins, filibuster, reframe the question etc. You can see that in the first question, and all the NFL social media talk.
