So I bought one of these and after a couple of months with it, I would say its worth the money at $600. Several hundred less than the AX8 and half as much as FM3. Not a fan of the Helix. Its just too damn big. So, the Gigboard is in my mind a good starter modeler. I will be upgrading at some point, hopefully the FM3, but for now this is pretty good. Two things I learned. Do not use the cabs, they suck. I only use impulse responses. Primarily the Celestion ones that you can download with the unit. Apparently celestion made them especially for Headrush and they sound great. Second, dont use the global eq. Its a serious tone suck and the primary reason people think this thing sounds like crap. Turn on global eq, and every patch starts to sound like crap. The more you fiddle with it, the worse it gets. Turn off global eq and use the eq within each patch instead. Lastly, this is not a Fractal. You only get a few amps and effects, but if you think about it if you have the real gear, you also only have a few amps and effects. But the effects really do sound good, especially the ones with a lot of stereo spread. Keep it simple, us IRs and enjoy. Lastly, the looper is excellent.
Hey! What about the Amps? Do you think that its good idea buy this Gigboard to use with power amp (valve) and 2x12 cabinet? Or maybe direct to the fx return. For metal. Thanks!!
@@dussio22 Yea that can work. But make sure to not use any speaker modeling in your patches. I might also put a real distortion pedal in the fx loop of the gigboard for extra punch for metal.
@@dussio22 i run the gigboard in the fx return of an orange cr120h in a 4x12, sounds crushing and you have all the distortion you could want, but for metal still matters how loud is the amp in first place, even tho i think even a 20 to 50 watt head in a 2x12 can do the job
@@lorenzoschiatti4737 nice! Yes, sure. With 50w power amp (tube) will be great. But my doubts are about the distortion quality from Gigboard. Do you feel the power? I have been playing with tube amps all of my life and now I wanna upload my rig, but I don't want to lose that quality of a tube amp.
It's so amazing to see today's multi-effects so powerful with a very responsive touch screen, great display, big & beautiful on screen. All the - multi-effect builders do not want to lose to how great smartphones today. Love it.
Just got my HeadRush Gigboard and Jesus this thing is LEGiT!! It does every sound you can think of and YES!!!! It does metal!! I think what we have to understand is that everything isn't for everybody. Each of us has something that we look for in guitar multi FX products. There are so many of these products on the market that I'm sure there's one or everyone in each price range. You can go from a few hundred bucks to perhaps $2k. Now for me, since I don't really use a lot of distortion and overdrive the clean effects are most important to me. Also I don't like going through a lot of menus and this is where this effects unit comes into its own. The 7" display does it for me. The display compliments the and enhances the ease of use. The choice of an effects is subjective at best. What one person may require may not be as important to another.
At nearly 600 quid, it is hardly a starter or beginner type device. For just a few quid more you can get a Line 6 helix LT, the Boss gt1000, hell even the full fat headrush isn't too far away.
Plus if you only want it to use it's stomp boxes and a real amp for the rest there are cheaper alternatives, even a GT100 isn't bad in 4 cable for that purpose.
I guess the GE 200 is ok for it's price, for my use it lacks an fx loop, a few more triggers and a big pedal. Wouldn't use any of them multi fx pedal boards for amp/cab sim neither distortion on stage or for a pro studio recording situation though, only the real deal or a Kemper if it absolutely has to be an amp sim, on the other hand, I only need one amp sound and not a multitude. Real stomp boxes also sound better but most modern multi fx boards are quite close to many of the commonly used effects, the only reason for me also having a board with pedals is to have something to fiddle around with.
@@JoeBaermann I am not a big gear whore tbh. I have a Boss Katana 2x12 Combo and absolutely love it. Hey Ola i have a question(i comment here cause its your latest video so i hope you will see). What do you reccomend me to play/practice to get back in shape?i havent played for 2 years and i wanna get my skills back

as an owner of the Headrush pedalboard version, I would advice going with this Gigboard instead. it sucks having to squat when you tweak settings, and it's annoying to put on the desk because it's so large.
Can u please do more drunken bar fights? My wife and I have never laughed harder in our lives as we did for your at the gates one... Maybe put on fear factory digimortal
Its a shame this doesnt sound better the touch screen interface and other cool features on this would have made it a huge success especially if it had more bass and guitar amps/ preamps it also lacks stereo effects loop and xlr outs to go to foh. I ended up going with the hx effects instead as it sounds better and was cheaper but if the issues with this where corrected it would have been a no brainer as its got way more dsp and a easier interface.
I just love waking up, checking my youtube and every single one of my subbed guitar channels are all reviewing the same exact product... paid advertising across the board, yay
How does this compare to an ax8? I'm saving up to the ax8, but this is SO MUCH CHEAPER! Sounds good to me, but I don't have a very good ear for this. I want to go front of house like I do with my Axe fx ultra. That's basically all.
Does it connect straight to a guitar cab or do you need an amp? All the pedalboards out there don't seem to offer this function where you use it as an amp and connectng straight to a cab.
Hmm... Love the concept, but there's a fizz at the top end of all these sounds which I can't ignore. Maybe I can't forget that they said they started with the old Eleven Rack? At the price, it's too close to the big pedalboard unit to make sense to me.

I have the gigboard and now am wondering if I want the pod go. Headrush is super nice. Pod go just looks more straight forward and easier to use. I love that the headrush has the drop tune effect for down tuning without switching guitars. Maybe I’ll get both 🤷♂️
What do you think about Michael Romeo's solo release? How do you feel about the direction his playing has gone to?
I literally choked when he sang enter sandman lul
Great demo, from Colorado.
Hey Ola i have a question(i comment here cause its your latest video so i hope you will see). What do you reccomend me to play/practice to get back in shape?i havent played for 2 years and i wanna get my skills back
Hi all your videos are awesome ! I have great guitars ltd with emg,but my amplifier set up "sound like ass" a ibanez tone blaster 100h cab +head... do you think it will be good a headrush pedal or a new head?i like pedal because i can have a disto, clean with effect, and solo disto thank you!
as an owner of the Headrush pedalboard version, I would advice going with this Gigboard instead. it sucks having to squat when you tweak settings, and it's annoying to put on the desk because it's so large.
The djent part made me laugh out loud and wake my newborn. Damn it, Ola, you funny fuck!
Super Swede .. sounds amazing.
I just love waking up, checking my youtube and every single one of my subbed guitar channels are all reviewing the same exact product... paid advertising across the board, yay
I like the decibel meter
Sounds awesome !
Hi! Great review! What is the dB meter you use over there ? Looks really dope ;)
I will take the Solar Guitar and Gigboard to go please. With a side of Ola's insane skill.
please review also the new Headeush MX5
How does this compare to an ax8? I'm saving up to the ax8, but this is SO MUCH CHEAPER! Sounds good to me, but I don't have a very good ear for this. I want to go front of house like I do with my Axe fx ultra. That's basically all.
Hola Ola, how do you record the sound of your desktop? I mean the signal chain, software, magic trick? Greetings from Iran
Eleven racks had an issue with a delay/lagg during changing presets.... is this unit have the same issue? Or has it been solved already ?
Dude, what's happening at 6:24? There's this really weird noise/hum along with the guitar.
Petter Eriksson No noise gate on I guess
Chorusing
Does it connect straight to a guitar cab or do you need an amp? All the pedalboards out there don't seem to offer this function where you use it as an amp and connectng straight to a cab.
Can you show me the pedals and settings you used for last very clean with chorus, delay and reverb you played for that Prince "Purple Rain" sound.
what's better, this or the line 6 pod go?
No XLR out! What a bummer. Awesome unit though...
Hmm... Love the concept, but there's a fizz at the top end of all these sounds which I can't ignore. Maybe I can't forget that they said they started with the old Eleven Rack? At the price, it's too close to the big pedalboard unit to make sense to me.
Please make a video using the Line6 hx Effects with the 4 cm!
Cheers from Portugal
I’m still fiddling with my gt-core, is thus unit better?
Hi Ola! Great vidz ! I subbed! \m/
7:49 beware the raven is out here!
