Exactly what i was thinking as well. But you would have to partially set the Jello before putting it in the cake because the moisture would completely ruin the fondant. But if you let the Jello set about 80% i think it would totally work... That or agar agar.
I feel like most cakes in these types of videos look super nice and stuff but they'd be really weird to eat because it's a whole lot of fondant and other various things.
I mean I feel like the point of these kinds of cakes is more to just show off decoration skills and things like that, but I do get what you mean. At least fondant is relatively easy to peel off, right?
sanapotter okay. So a while ago, Yolanda caked a giant McDonald’s apple pie. If you know anything about fondant, fondant should never touch any liquid. However, apples contain quite a bit of liquid, so while Yolanda was constructing the cake, the fondant was melting and creating white liquid and that really “traumatized” Yolanda If you still don’t get it you can just search up McDonald’s apple pie cake and you’ll see why 😊
It’s been so long since I’ve watched a HTCI video, and I’m surprised with how much of the lingo/ decorating process/tools I remember 😄 the cake turned out amazing!!
I remember when i used to watch her channel 24/7 when i was in 6th grade bcs i was hella into baking, now im a junior. I still am into baking, but instead I've headed towards a different direction of sweets to make other than cakes. Anyone else find it painful how she just makes everything look so seamless and effortless but when I try to make a box cake, it flops. Literally, flops into itself.
She doesn't use box cake. Box cake usually needs adjustments for cutting and carving as it's not dense enough. Find a good Madeira recipe and practice with that, I think Yolanda has some go to recipes as well.

When my family moved to Australia it was 'winter'. The day after we arrived, my dad took us to the local beach. I was surprised that there were only a few people & that they were wearing heavy sweaters. Coming from Canada, we were perfectly comfortable in our jeans & t-shirts & actually couldn't resist taking the plunge fully clothed. We often went swimming that winter as it just seemed like a bad Canadian summer. After living through a summer though, we didn't even think about swimming in the ocean, lol.

Your “Kiddie Pool” was absolutely adorable. I’m a retired Pastry Chef and in 1991, l made something similar... I made a Jacuzzi (adult version) for a customer’s 50th Birthday Party. His wife wanted me to place “Her and her Husband” inside the Jacuzzi. She requested, l use Barbie Dolls. She also asked me to make her topless! I’m definitely going to make your version after the holidays are over. My Grandkids will really be missing their pool come February.

She’s said before that she usually gives them away or donates them (sometimes she makes them for people! She’s made a wedding cake for a family member, her sons birthday cakes and the banoffee cake was for a family dinner iirc. I think sometimes the HTCI team shares them. I think I remember Orhan saying he took some home)

instead of piping gel i feel like she should’ve use jello that wasn’t firmed up all the way so it still had the watery effect but still thick, and it would’ve tasted way better.
If the jello wasn't completely firmed up the water in the jello will react with the fondant
Victory Dan-Dukor instead of fondant underneath a blue buttercream would be a good replacement because i don’t think piping gel tastes very well
