I'm aware what people want to hear, but I physically can't bring myself to fake interest - even if it would be in my best interest, like with my boss. Been called "blunt" and "negative" for that before, but on the other hand I've also had people tell me that they value my input a lot, because they know I won't sugarcoat things or try to suck up to them. So I don't see a reason to change.
People who ask for your opinion but try to stop you from saying anything they don't want to hear are just egotists looking for an easy hit of validation. Being honest and polite is the best policy. The people who really matter will listen and respect what you have to say, even if they don't agree.

Yeah, I 100% understand Towa's situation here. I have little to no interest in most things, and so it's often difficult to express excitement when someone is appealing for my opinion. There's a social pressure to go along with the mood so that you don't come off as an ass, but I also don't want to lie to their face or to myself either (I'm also a horrible liar). It can really make you feel like something's wrong with you when you can't conform to what everyone else wants as easily. You're either a mood-killer, a liar, or you avoid interaction altogether and are considered weird and boring.

Just make some kind of surface level observation about whatever it is, ask a simple question about it, and then let them fill in with their answer. They'll think you care enough about it to pay attention and ask a question about something that they like, and then they'll be happy to tell you about what they like about it, redirecting the question in their minds to one where they can continue to talk. Works every time, provided you're good at sounding vaguely interested or naively ignorant.

Tbh, its normal reaction not to give people expected reaction for e.g negative or meh comment about what others like. I do this a lot and totally bogged my mind until I talked with my counsellor. They suggested its rather be honest and truer to yourself rather than lying. Its fine to say "not cute" or whatever not positive response, just dont degraded what people values.

Obviously, you wouldn't want to hurt their feelings by not liking the thing they like, and this is a good way to get around that by acknowledging the feelings themselves, not just the object of their affection. Even if you don't like it, you still like them and are happy for them; that's what matters the most.

Basically Towa would rather tell the truth or feel a genuine connection to something in order to agree or comment on something, while Mio and Okayu prioritize boosting and protecting someone's confidence meaning they focus on the person who is asking rather than what is being asked. There is no right and wrong about this but it is just how they approach social interaction in their own way.

Personally I would try to find a way around it like "its not for me, but it looks good on you" or something unless I really do think it looks awful, at which point Id have to awkwardly tell them I dont like it but to ask other people incase its just my tastes influencing my response. It's not thinking like a guy or that you don't agree with what someone is showing you. This other girl likes something enough, or is proud of it to where she wants to share it with Towa for approval. A simple "yes that does look cute" or "oh, that really is your style!" can go a long way. I think it would be nice if a friend or co-worker trusted me enough with showing something they like, but that's really rare for guys. Don't squander that, Towa!
A good problem to have
Seems like some people over think it. This is just a normal social thing, don't have to be super deep about it. Just reply it is cute and ask a question about it. "where did you get it", "how old is it", "did you buy it because of the color." No reason to cause friction with a friend or peer over something some small.
