'DWTS' pros explain how emotional Len Goodman tribute came to be: ‘Everyone was in tears’

- There was not a dry eye in the ballroom Tuesday night as “Dancing With the Stars” pros, past and present, reunited for a beautiful tribute waltz in honor of Len Goodman.
The breathtaking performance - which ended with the teary-eyed dancers glancing over at the late judge’s empty chair - was choreographed by Jenna Johnson and Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
OG pros like Mark Ballas, Kym Johnson-Herjavec, Tony Dovolani, Karina Smirnoff, Anna Trebunskaya and more all returned to the ballroom for the special routine, dancing alongside the current Season 32 pros, co-host Julianne Hough and judge Derek Hough.
Speaking with Page Six after the show, Johnson explained how her and Val’s vision all came together for “Most Memorable Year” night.

I was glad to see that they were highlighted as the couples on the stage at one point during the dance. They were the frontrunners who help build the show!

I think the tribute that Cheryl did was wonderful.she walked in love, and she had no hatred and talk nice about everybody. that’s the way everybody should be ,even though she wasn’t invited. She walked in love. That’s what Jesus would’ve done.👍
He was irascible but his criticism was always constructive.

They were OG' of the show and were all amazingly talented.
Thay are ballroom dancers, not mainstream artists. If you were not familiar with the ballroom world you probably would not know them.
Newbies missed out. Maxsim, Val’s brother + as well as the rest of the OG’s were privileged to be a part of Len’s passion.
These are the people that has brought me into being a fan of ballroom. Amazing talent - you missed out!!! Might want to look up old shows before you judge who they are.
