Kubo's use of the rain motif is like no others and it truly establishes his talent at literature. My favorite aspects of Bleach were not particularly the battles, but anticipating Kubo's use of symbolism and parallels. His writing challenges me to dig deeper into the lore of Bleach and I appreciate that!
Ya know i never thought of it that way...i jus assumed with the title "everything but the rain" was jus a nod to old man in his sword..."i can endure anything but the rain" but maybe its duality? Because its both? 🤔
I don't think this was discussed but the fact that the after the activation of Auswahlen, the power that is redistributed to the worthy Quincies rains down on them. This is viewed in a positive light for those Quincies as they see it as a sign of the tide turning to their favor. It completely throws our view on the symbolism of rain in Bleach on it's head intentionally as itself something Yhwach sees as a great thing yet to us, Ichigo and more importantly, Old Man Zangetsu, as a negative thing. Especially with Old Man Zangetsu, the fact that he hates the rain because he knows it's the symbol of Ichigo's despair that goes back to his mother's death AND that Yhwach used the very technique to strip away her powers to later be distributed in the form of rain to other Quincies.
I think the rain during byakuya's death actually wasn't mere symbolism, but rather it was the result of Yamamoto's bankai having powered down. The heat of having used his bankai caused all the moisture in the air to rise.
The walking metaphor reminds me of Bojack horseman it only gets easier. Bleach got soo much shit on by fans of the other two, even though one piece and bleach have so much in common. Kubo is amazing at telling his story in a subtle way moreso than the other big three. One piece follows behind 2nd because to this day people cannot except that one piece is heavily political. Naruto' is ok but the alien ninja shit really ruined it for me I liked it more before Shippuden.
There's always a rainbow after the rain's gone.

Cool video. I asked for something similar in your last video comments and I got it. Awesome!
The worst part is that I don't even remember it raining in the anime when these scenes were on screen
Everything but the rain, because all the rain reminds us is the low points of Ichigo's life
