    Personally, I prefer wearing the skin suits of my enemies to keep warm. But the decathlon mt100 seems like a solid second choice

    I bought this jacket last year in blue and have been so impressed with it. I bought it based on Dan Becker's review at the time. I wanted another of these in the orange colour and have watched their stock for the past 6 months until finally seeing it come back in stock. I ordered it and it took a week to come from their European warehouse and it looks awesome. If anybody needs a down jacket that is warm, durable and doesn't care if it has an expensive logo on it, this is an awesome jacket. There is a reason so many of the top gear reviewers rate it, you won't be disappointed.

      Couldnt agree more, this jacket packs such a punch for the price of it!

    Nice review. Whilst I personally don't have a Decathlon puffer I do have budget down alternatives from Trespass and Mountain Warehouse, as well as a synthetic one from Fat Face of all places. These are okay in terms of warmth but share the MT100's vulnerability when it comes to the rain.
    Alternatively, I've also got a Wolfhound Hoodie from Helikon-Tex which I'd argue is warmer and doesn't have a problem with the rain due its excellent DWR treatment as I found out last year whilst wandering around a Fife hospital trying to find a way in late at night. However, it is almost double the price of the aforementioned down puffers, so not exactly a budget option, although still less expensive than the equivalent Patagonia Nano-Air.
    It's all horses for courses at the end of the day. Cheers.

      That’s really cool, I’ll take a look into the wolfhound. A good test seeing how it performs on a cold night in Fife! Haha.
      I’ve had a few trespass and mountain warehouse bits and I’ve always found they’ve been ok, warm enough but always rip eventually. I think that’s where they save the money on them.

    Si sales a la calle con la prenda cuando llueva, cógete un paraguas. Está prenda es muy buena en calidad-precio. Si tienes tripa cervecera, abstente, o usa una talla más.

    I was looking at this jacket a few weeks back but read some negative comments, one being that it became ruined after washing it. Have you tried washing it yet and if so was it usable after. Other than that, it looks pretty top notch for the price. Thanks for the honest review.

      @@richardkrcmar7821 you know what Richard im yet to wash mine, but what I might do is give it a wash after the weekend and let you know how it goes. Being down it does require some extra care that I’ll go through with.
      I can let you know in a few days.

    Your final comments on this jacket, regarding rain and down vs synthetic is unfair. Those comments apply to all lightweight down jackets whether they be Rab, Berghaus etc. It is not a limitation of the jacket, but just a fact of down vs synthetic.

    • @trailtestedgear
      @trailtestedgear  28 дней назад +1

      Thanks for your comment! I totally understand that this limitation applies to most down jackets. However, when you compare this jacket directly to a synthetic one, it simply won't perform as well in wet conditions. In my opinion, that's important to keep in mind if you plan on going out in the rain. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!

      @@trailtestedgear again, you are making it looking like the jacket is flawed in some way. It should be a general statement that any lightweight down jacket has these limitations vs. Synthetic, not just this one.
