    It is refreshing to see tutorials on how to do this online buy also refreshing to see how modular everything is. No heat guns, no alcohol, no obscure wrench. Just screwdriver, maybe a ratchet and some elbow grease.

    I can't believe how simple the fix was because I watched this video. Took me around 10 minutes to take off the back and get into the filter... the filter was LOADED with crap (and coins). Thank you so much for making this video!

    Thanks a lot, brother. I just finished this job on my machine. I was getting this code along with a "Sud" signal... At first, we thought that just meant too many suds and tried to reduce our detergent per load. But the code kept coming back.
    Pulled the filter and out came 4 face masks and a little jewelry bag.... No problems with the pump bearings, thankfully. The wife is hand washing the face masks from now on, she says. Ha!
    Saved me at least 100 bucks.

    Thank you for this great video! I fixed my problem!! Error codes E01and F09 led me 1st to the filter. The filter was clogged with baby socks & lint!!! Your step by step instructions were right on point. I called a technician initially who quoted me an estimated cost of $300 + cost to repair. Took me about 30 mins, & I was up & washing clothes. Many thanks!!

    Great video. I cleaned the trap and put it all back together only to have the error code come back. So I took it all back apart and took the pump apart this time. The pump looked clear but was pretty warm as if it had been struggling. Almost put it back together but thought I'd shine a light. Found a womens bobby pin sitting in the opposite side of the pump assembly. Just enough to arrest the impellers. Working great now. Lesson - Check pump and trap while you have the whole thing apart. Do it right or do it twice.

      Same thing. I came here to say this.
      HELPFUL HINT - If you're getting error code indicating drain issue or pump failure, remove the water pump while you're cleaning filter and hose. I cleaned the filter (which really wasn't dirty or clogged) and the hose and still got the error message. I repeated the process but removed the water pump the 2nd time. After removing, I disassembled the water pump by removing 3 screws that held pump together. Inside the pump, I found the culprit. A thin nail was preventing the impeller from rotating. I reassembled, and all is perfect again.

    Extremely good directions. Made the fix pretty easy. My Maytag had five Philips screws instead of four screws. I couldn't get the pump to swing back into to position. I had to remove the hinge bolt and push the pump directly into the pump housing. The video and verbal directions were great. Saved me a lot of time.

    Thank you for the video! I have the Maytag MHW8200FW0 washer and I found 2 bra pads + a ton of dog hair. This was my first time cleaning it in 4 years. I am sure the error code E01 + F09 was because the bra pads BLOCKED the flow of water. Surprisingly, the pump had minimal amounts of dog hair from my husky. The pump pushed it all out but the pads were the main culprit! Thank you!

  • @pfb8473

    I have the Maytag Maxima MHW6000XW that was throwing the E01 F09 code and the "Sud" code and found these videos showing how to check the drain trap. This model has the pump/drain trap in the front which is hard to access but this video shows a great easy way to get at it. It definitely works and once I got the trap out there was all kinds of stuff in there. As mentioned, the real challenge is getting the metal spring loaded seal hoop back on the gray rubber seal boot once you are all done. It CAN be done by hand, but I highly recommend having another person help hold the hoop in place at a couple spots while you do the final stretch and pull over the lip and snap it in place. I couldn't do it all by myself, but with a helper got it on the first time. Also, FYI there's another video showing another black hose to check for blocks that's in the back of the unit with clamps on both sides....it's easy to reach and worth checking for cleaning out as well.

    Great video! Thank you. However, before I looked up your video I turned the machine off when I saw the error codes. This caused it to start draining and it wouldn’t do anything more except make the draining noise. So I unplugged it. I have tried to do your unlock technique, but it will not work now. It just keeps making that draining noise. Will, I still be able to get my machine to turn back on and unlock the door after I do the repair you show in this video? I tried to reset and unlock the door and it wouldn’t work.

    • @MissouriAgitater
      @MissouriAgitater  4 месяца назад

      After the repair turn the machine back on, if it starts the drain again let it run it's course... If it doesn't shut off after 20 min. Then it's because it think it still has water in it.. you can then try 2 things..
      #1 hold the cancel/ stop or power button for 4 seconds. It should stop...
      #2 if it does not stop draining, remove the top, find the small "fill hose" sometimes they are clear or black.. it's roughly 5/16 in diameter.. unplug it and blow through the hose into the tub. Reinstall and try again.. sometimes these lines get dirt in them holding pressure on the pressure switch, tricking the machine into thinking it has water in it..
      I hope this helps 👍💪💪💪

    Your video was very easy to follow, though my pump had 5 screws. Took me a few minutes to realize that was what was preventing it from popping out. Filer and pump were clear, but appears the pump is bad. Do you know if when I install a new pump if it will reset the washer? When I plug it in (with the old pump) the display screen is blank and it keeps trying to drain with the door locked light flashing. No other buttons on the front of machine work. New pump arrives tomorrow, so I am hopeful that solves the issue.

    I can't actually unplug the pump. Is there a clip holding the plug in? or do I need to wait for my 16 year old with stronger fingers to remove the plug? I'd rather not create another problem by forcing it if there is a clip or something holding the actual plug in place. But I'm incredibly frustrated at not being able to fully remove the pump. With ours, we were able to clear codes in the past and replaced the Washer Water Level Pressure Switch W10448876 Genuine OEM, and that fixed it, but now that didn't work after replacing it. It sounds like it's trying to pump out water but there's nothing there. The drain isn't clogged. So I'm wondering since there is a noise if we plug it back in, if that the pump.

      I've seen them make a humming noise and pump no water, I've even seen them run perfectly but pump no water, when I take them apart the impeller is usually broken and detached from the pump motor... Coins, nails and debris usually causes that.

      It will be something clogging your drain line or a hose somewhere..F09 E01 means the unit can't drain properly.. check all hoses and connections to the pump and make sure they are 100% clear... Also make sure the pump you received was good and working. I have received new parts that was bad in the past.

    Piss poor design. What if the washer is in a place where you can’t get to the back like a washer normally is in a laundry room? They couldn’t have made the bottom front panel come off to make it easier to get to the coin catcher?

    • @johnfinnerty595
      @johnfinnerty595 3 года назад +1

      If you tilt the washer back about 30 degrees (support it with a piece of wood so it doesn't fall down on your hand while you're working on it), you can open an access panel from the bottom. There's another RUclips video that demonstrate this..

    • @JustOneSmallExplorer
      @JustOneSmallExplorer 3 года назад +1

      @@johnfinnerty595 literally just came from watching that video. I was just looking to see if someone has the part number for the drain pump. You can even see the bottom access panel here...after he takes off the back. definitely way more work than was needed. This video is still helpful though, just another way of doing it.

    • @MissouriAgitater
      @MissouriAgitater  4 года назад

      You can try unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work you can remove the top and reach down toward the door switch to pull the door safety latch cable..

    • @samisdata
      @samisdata 3 года назад

      If you open the trap and drain the water you can open the door. Have a bowl and a bucket handy. We had to drain about three gallons out one bowl at a time. But we didn't have moldy clothes waiting after the new pump arrived a week later.

      @@MissouriAgitater Thank you so very much for your prompt response! The part you sent me, looks like it's a whole assembly that includes both the filter and the drain pump motor. I guess the drain pump motor is what needs to be replaced only. Per your expertise, should I just replace the whole thing or just the motor alone? Please advise. Thanks a million!

    • @MissouriAgitater

      I usually go ahead and replaced the whole unit, sometimes when you try to replace only the motor, you will find that the casting process of the parts are a bit different and won't fit completely snug.

    Mine pumps out all the water then just keeps pumping and won’t shut off?? Is there a flow switch inside the pump or do I need to change another switch. I believe the pump is ok? I did a quick cycle after the first pump out of water it just kept pumping and the water was out. The cycle stayed at 18mins as well and didn’t continue. I had to cancel the cycle?
