All four live performances are from her 1976 debut album Right Back Where We Started From. The title track was released in the summer of 1975 and became her signature song. The million-selling single reached #8 in the UK, #5 in US Adult Contemporary, and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Gotta Be The One" was Maxine Nightingale's follow up minor-hit single, peaking at #53 on the pop chart. She remains active today, mostly on the retro music circuit. Quincy Jones' If I Ever Lose This Heaven was popularized by Average White Band in 1975.
One of the best musical moments from The Umbrella Academy Season 2 Episode 1 on Netflix debut July 31, 2020, is when Allison, Luther, Diego, Vanya and Number Five realized the portal brought them to 1960s Dallas. "Right Back Where We Started" by Maxine Nightingale kicked off the new season by playing "Ooh, and it's alright, and it's comin' along, we gotta get right back to where we started from..."
