Adult Link in Smash Ult is my go to Link of choice. Gale Boomerang was neat, but I could never get used to it in Brawl-4. BotW’s bomb is fun to mess around with too.
Link is definitely my favorite character in the smash series. He’s an incredibly fun to play, his combos are really cool, his edge guards are pretty good, and I am a sucker for interesting recoveries, which Link definitely has. That is why I main him in Melee, Brawl, and Smash 4, while having him as a secondary in Smash 64 and Ultimate. This video going over his history in competitive smash is incredibly well made and I always love watching it, great job man, keep up the good work.
This is excellent! So hyped for the fox one. I seriously mistook this for some titan of a channel before seeing the sub count. As a quick aside, a high quality microphone would SKYROCKET this video's quality, as it's about the only thing I can see that indicates a lower production value. Overall superb vid super excited to see more!
Remote bomb really feels like a game changer in Ultimate (aside from increased speed) - it can be used for zoning, ledgetrapping, edgeguarding, recovery, and combo looping. That combined with how nice Link's aerials are makes him much scarier.
Can't wait for the Ness video that explains what happened in Smash 64, I've seen it in all 3 of these vids so far where Ness is top 3 then drops to low tier.
Link was my main as casual in Brawl and I'll never forget him, though I've been dropping him for Shulk in Smash 4 and other faster characters in Ultimate, he feels really awesome now, the long lasting buffs I dreamed about were here.
Sekerei just won the latest japanese tournament with all the best Japanese there, minus wario, going mostly link. His second time winning a major tournament. J link is significantly stronger than u link though
Loving all these videos! Keep it up! If I might suggest just a time stamp at the start of the different version/game of Link it would help a lot. I accidentally hit the back button and kept going behind and past the point I had left off 😅 Just would make it easier in finding my watch point again
This was a really good video. It doesn't seem like there is much top level representation for Link in Ultimate as there was at the beginning of the game in North America, but other regions seem to have pretty good Link players still.
I really don't like ultimate link. He was my main in smash 4, mainly because I just loved the gale boomerang, hookshot and physique of the game. So when I saw his new remote bomb, I was super happy. Then I tested him. The two things I liked the most were gone, and link swordstrikes felt so heavy for no reason, I just hated it. The remote bomb that looked so cool in Otakuni's hands was just the most annoying projectile I ever saw and was mainly used not because of the remote mécanique but because of the super weak annoying hitboxe on the move. This made me drop link in favour of bayonetta and villager, it might be one of my worst character in ultimate. At least my secondary sheik was more similar to her smash 4 appearance.
"You are the weakest Link, goodbye." LOL That's why Link has consistently been a "bad" character on the official Smash Bros. Tier lists over the years. Just kidding. LOL
Dude I don’t agree on N64 Link begin as bad as you make it sound, Isai got second on apex 2012 playing only with Link on Grand Finals, when have you seen this happening on any other smash game? I think the character is solid on Smash 64
For someone who's favorite franchise has been The Legend of Zelda since Wind Waker(absolutely adore both WW and TP and BotW is my favorite game of all time along side Smash ult) Link in smash has never really resonated with me, I can't stand his play style. I would actually use Zelda in Brawl instead of Link lol
Dang no PM/P+ mentions? Definitely the second-best version at least. Unfortunately his kit just has some terrible matchups, most notably with rushdown characters. He will never be top tier unless he gets more horizontal movement options on the ground and in the air. He just struggles without burst movement options.
They ruined link in ultimate in my opinion. I always mained him. He wasnt so great in brawl or wii u but thats mostly because of how floaty those 2 games were. Melee and n64 he was easily one of the top 5 characters.
We gotta boost this guy, great content here. Here's to the algorithm
Link is my favorite because he's both a sword user and projectile user and that's why he's my main
Link owns.

Awesome channel. Even though I don’t main Link, he’s my favorite character in the Smash series as a whole.
Remote bomb really feels like a game changer in Ultimate (aside from increased speed) - it can be used for zoning, ledgetrapping, edgeguarding, recovery, and combo looping. That combined with how nice Link's aerials are makes him much scarier.
Surprised you didn't mention Aklo or that Link got heavily buffed in smash 4 which definitely helped more players succeed with him
Just the kind of content I love tuning into while I indulge in good food
Man this contents great can’t wait for more it’s interesting see how every character has been in the smash series and I love transition great video
Can't wait for the Ness video that explains what happened in Smash 64, I've seen it in all 3 of these vids so far where Ness is top 3 then drops to low tier.
Wake up babe new Islanders61 vid
good shit as always man, love this series
Link was my main as casual in Brawl and I'll never forget him, though I've been dropping him for Shulk in Smash 4 and other faster characters in Ultimate, he feels really awesome now, the long lasting buffs I dreamed about were here.
We need one of these videos for Ness!
Tbf Link doesn't actually have a terrible recovery since Bomb recovery works for forever and gets more effective with higher %
Absolutely love these and would love to see more
I'm not done the video, but it's gonna be a banger as they all are.
Sekerei just won the latest japanese tournament with all the best Japanese there, minus wario, going mostly link. His second time winning a major tournament. J link is significantly stronger than u link though
Why is j link so much stronger?
What tournament is this? And who is Sekerei?
@@thevegansquid8777 You probably already know by now, but Link was mostly nerfed out of Japan.
Nice video!
A great and thorough video!
You forgot about one thing about ssbu link he has a projectile with his fsmash and makes his fsmash do nearly 50 percent
The problem with said projectile is that Link has to be at 0% to use it. Some characters would make maintaining that impossible.
Link’s F-Smash is actually pretty good, but it’s certainly not meta defining
Loving all these videos! Keep it up!
If I might suggest just a time stamp at the start of the different version/game of Link it would help a lot. I accidentally hit the back button and kept going behind and past the point I had left off 😅

As a link main, this video is amazing
Great video man!
This video Hass to be clip-able the combos are crazy
the improvement to link in ultimate was so obvious at 1st glance. I remember being so happy to finally pick up link as a character haha
I like how far u have come love the vids and have a good day
Us link mains got to work with wat we got
You forgot to mention link can shoot a beam from his sword at 0% in ultimate
Can’t wait for Kirby (Probably doo doo aside from 64)

Great vid
You should make a video making the best character with moves already in the game.
Now video dropped let's gooo
Great video! Are you planning on doing this for all the 64 fighters?
The plan is to do it for all characters!
Great video bro
Link my beloved
If I may ask, what was the song played for the Melee Link portion?
Tal Tal Heights
I want to see you do one on Zelda!
I was working on something like this with link but I guess he beat me to it
Based islanders love the video 👍🔥
Shout outs Dan Salvato the OG link main
Love this series
Love your videos
they should give us all the links .he was always my favorite but I never played him in older smash since he's always been kinda bad which is weird
A very linked character
Is there a specific order your doing characters or are you just doing them in the order you want?
So I just was playing one of the worst characters all my life and I don't even knew it :'v
That explain many things
I swear I saw this video a while back. Is this a repost from an old video that got deleted?
Nope, but I do have other videos of different characters so maybe you saw those ones
Hell yeah content
I guess Breath of the Wild breathed new life in Link's Smash game.
Your so underrated!
Commenting for the algorithm

Every smash 64 character actually can complete!
Yooo link just got buffed in the last patch!

I really look out for T but don't see anything...everyone else is back tho am I missing something?
Dang no PM/P+ mentions? Definitely the second-best version at least. Unfortunately his kit just has some terrible matchups, most notably with rushdown characters. Why is this channel so small?
Algorithm
ALGORITHM BOOST
Algorithm boost comment don’t mind me
The CDI ruined link game play design in a plat form fighter
