    we do have to take into account, bronny james dropped during a practice by cardiac arrest caused by a congenital heart defect which postponed the start to his college season. he only started 6 games, and appeared in around 20 or something like that. they were being very careful with him at USC when he was medically cleared but limited. with that said he def not lebron james but... the stats are limited playing time and a lot of the season missed.

    Bronny didnt play alot at USC because he was still recovering from cardiac arrest and his minutes were limited and got less then 20 min a game, and it wasn't because of his ability, mainly getting back into playing shape, I definitely think he should have played another year in college but mentioning his points per game without mentioning his minutes, his cardiac arrest and his amazing defense he plays. I personally do not think he will be a star, but he does have the ability to be a solid player. Only time will tell, but this video obviously failed to mention these things on purpose. I feel the reason Bronny went so late, is due to not enough evidence that he will be good, not that he wont be. If he played another year in college, his draft stock would have potentially went up.

    He would never been picked without his name, his limited play past season and health concerns would be more than enough for teams to pass on him, he was already predicted as a possible second round pick but even that seemed questionable and that was before the health concerns. There has been enough top 5 players dropping deep in the draft due to less complicated situations than Bronny.

    Everybody knows Palinka and Jeanie Buss picked Bronny in order to keep LeBron on the Lakers and have him resign for an extension. Being drafted ensures bigger, guaranteed money and a roster spot. Being picked up as a UDFA. Undrafted (rookie) Free Agent doesn't have as these guarantees. Dalton Kencht is a waaaay more of a steal for the Lakers.

  • @antmj2335

    Bronny tested really well at the combine too. If not for that, I don’t think he would’ve been drafted. Has a 41 inch vertical. The cardiac arrest put him back a ways before last year at usc.

  • @ericwilliams8420

    If you want to look for a silver lining it's not as if he was never on any NBA radar. Bronny was getting drafted in some mock drafts, mid to late 1st round coming out of High School for whatever that's worth (Not much in my opinion, but still). Michael Jordan's kids, and the sons of a lot of other Superstar basketball player sons were for the most part NEVER on any NBA radar. He''s coming back from cardiac arrest, on a minutes restrictions at USC so that probably counts for something. If you were to ask me did he "deserve" to get drafted after his Collegiate season last year? I'd have to say No. But the truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

      It's not an "accomplishment' number 1. And 2, he's not "creating his own path" he had his dad pull some strings. If he really wanted to create his own path, he would take his risk and not allowed Klutch to threaten other GM's not to pick him or if he wasn't drafted or picked up on a UDFA contract, go overseas and hone his skills there.

    • @JoshuaMartian-go3tm
      @JoshuaMartian-go3tm 22 дня назад

      55th out of 58 this year. There have been players picked late who turned out to be very good or great players. Jokic 41, Ginobli 57, Marc Gasol 48, Isaiah Thomas last 60th. But Bronny aint one of them. 😆He may still turn out to be a serviceable role player tho. Maybe. Many Undrafted free agents too have bean greats too or very good like Austin Reaves. Bronny definitely took a spot from a player that could have been drafted or drafted to the Lakers, no doubt.

    9:00 I's not a marketing ploy Daz. The Lakers needed to Draft Bronny to keep Lebron. They were fine with potentially wasting their second round pick if it would guarantee another couple years of Lebron. Lebron is all the marketing you need, he brings sooo much money to your franchise, and can also keep your team in sight of a championship. Now will they market the hell out of this? Yes of course, but that's not why they did it. That second round pick was just "2 more years of Lebron James" in the form of a not very talented guard.
    Also, Aidan, Bronny entered the draft right away because he knew (because of his dad) he was going to for sure get picked. He's also going to have a ton of endorsement stuff involving him and Lebron, there's no reason to think his stock would have risen if he had stayed another year in college... and if he had another year of 10 ppg, and entered the 2025 draft with Lebron a year older, Bronnys window in the NBA might not have even opened at all.
    Bronny is just a big nepo baby.

    The draft is two rounds. While I can concede "it's cool" to have a father and son on the same team, is it cool for Bronny to lose out on a few years of development in the college rank for the sake of his father's massive ego?
    What happens when he makes the team? Rich Paul and "team Bronny" have already indicated that he isn't interested in a two-way deal (in which he'd play the majority of his time in the G-League). So then, the Lakers are forced to give him a full roster spot to appease his dad?
    Like you said, it feels like a marketing ploy by James Sr. and the Lakers. Lebron has repeatedly said that he wants to play with his son, but has Bronny ever said he wished to play with his dad?
