I'm so glad a group of brilliant Engineers came up with solutions to stabilize the tower. The Tower of Pisa reopens to the public by the time I traveled to Pisa. Climbing to the top of 296 steps was an overwhelming and enthralling experience for me.
I can't recall seeing a building built that way the 4 side supports including a middle one makes common sense,if the people new the danger they face the #hit really would have hit the fan I wouldn't want to have been the builder.
The comment about the leaning tower of Pisa that engineering then was not as good as today is a bit of an oxymoron when you think of the Egyptian Pyramids and many of the ancient structures still standing today. Many of these structures would not be able to be built today in the same way. Watching this show is a fine example of latter day engineering mistakes that shouldn't have happened but whether through ignorance or corruption or pride they do. Personally I would prefer the ancient Egyptians to build my next grand palace than any of todays engineers and builders and know that failing an apocalyptic event that it will still be standing 5000 years from now. 🇦🇺.
It appears to be all about money. The take from tourism is huge. It also proves that its engineering design is sufficient. 300 hundred years later all is well.
stone buildings rarely collapse even if there are flows. It's always steel and concrete. I think stones can handle changing environmental conditions more gracefully than concrete and steel.
What informs the choice of these commentators? Very annoying. Can't you get real proffesionals to point out the not obvious we know not. The whole point of their comentary is useless.

Bless that man for seeing what was happening and his strong sense of preventative action.
the one screaming in the background was so annoying
Yep, very annoying 😢
The humility of the engineer of that Manhattan building prevented a disastor waiting to happen
I bet it didn't go down well with the old ingeneers, that a female student told them, they had miscalculated!
New York sky scrapers don’t fall over. They just fall into their own footprint. 🇦🇺
Too soon? You should wait another 3 years, for those snowflake newyawkers.
They should have givin that woman a cash reward for saving so many lives.
Why not just keep to the report and leave out the drama and ham acting ?
haha yes they are pretty much annoying
Why is a neuroscientist commenting on an engineering documetary ?
Yeah, Lots of those people just have some "title" for the show happens. Most of them does not even exists. Fictional names, fictional jobs.
Maybe because engineers don't consider things in the same way and that's part of the problem?

Happened suddenly. There were no warnings.
You wanna risk people being in those cars?

The pyramids were not built by Egyptian. Modern Scientists say that the pyramids were already there even before the Egyptian people came.
"engineering mistakes"
Brilliant 😂
Build back better!
Close the leaning tower to people. The weight of the people add to the leaning of the tower.

4:55 As usual, even when there is no emergency, girls are screaming…
