Thank you so much for the insight on the sacrifice of the daughter. It was something that has always bothered me.
I'd also like to add. This is a very good warning to us men. It is clear in the Bible that God appoints us as leaders of our house holds and our people. It is not a happy go lucky position. But a burden of real responsibility. We must be our best in the Lord because our choices/actions can have deadly consequences for those whom we are to lead.

Actions having consequences is something I feel does not get brought up enough times.

The ending is sad and that is why we must be careful of the words we speak! I’m sure God was grieved by this act. We have a forgiving gracious God and now the daughter is in Heaven with him. Good message of God’s love and forgiveness.

So much like our nation today! We cry out for help and change in our circumstances while continuing in our sins. God will not condone sin and therefore will not answer our prayers, at least not like we think He should! We must truly repent and turn from our evil ways if we expect God’s help! I need you Lord to help me to be truly repentant! Praise be to God and thanks to Jesus my Savior my only hope of salvation!

I think she was dedicated to the tabernacle and remained a virgin. If she was sacrificed then that would suggest that God would be like the pagan gods that did sacrifice their children.

She was sacrificed and it had nothing to do with God. It was a man who made the vow and a man who carried it out. It’s not Gods fault when men choose to do bad things.
Allowing free will to play out does not equate to condoning bad behavior. There is day of reckoning reserved for all men.

I'm sorry but there is no way that GOD would accept a human sacrifice as a burnt offering.
I get so angry with people who look to extrabiblical "Jewish literature" as the end all be all. I'm not antisemitic at all but screw that! Screw the pharisaical additions and subtractions! They are not God!
How well do you KNOW יהוה ?!
    Smh...
My apologies, I love these verse by verse teachings, but I had to say that.
