I'm about to graduate from film school in May, and I haven't really learned anything. My program does not become hands-on till junior year. Unfortunately, the pandemic made everything go online my sophmore year, so I learned about lighting and cinematography through a computer screen. The one nice thing was acting as DP on one of the senior projects. I'm happy I'll have a degree, but everything I have learned for the most part has been because of outside personal work. Nice episode
Everyones path will always be different. I dislike loans and having any type of debt so I just went out on my own and started small and eventually growing but not on social media. I've got friends who hated their choice of staying in film school but have others who enjoyed it. I'm for whatever helps a certain person do what they want. This was a fun topic to watch and to hear the differences you both had.
Starting my film school tomorrow and after watching this episode I really started to think about the mindset going into it. Great episode again guys! Excited to see the next ones
Thank you so much , it helps us aspiring creator s a lot and please do make more .this is just to increase the engagement and motivate u guys to do more of these.
I haven't clicked play yet, but personally I'd NEVER do Film School in the age of RUclips and mentorships. Especially being a Visual Learner. On the job training is probably the best training you could get. I don't see how writing an abundance of essays is gonna make you better at operating a Camera and/or changing lenses. I do agree that it's much more to it than just that, but RUclips alone is where most of us gain our knowledge. I personally feel like I may have reached my peak on stuff that I can learn/teach myself so my next step would definitely be to find a mentorship if I want to move forward. Ok, now I'll press play lol.
oh man! I clicked with, "not fitting in with the "film school" kids and teachers." Loved my school experiences and people but TOTALLY didn't speak the lingo or watch the right classic films. oh man and don't get me started on the NEED to learn AVID cuz thats what the pros use lol.
Hope everyone enjoys this episode with our each very own different perspectives.
What do you all think about the topic?
Everyone’s path is different!

13:27 perfect example of “If you can do, do; If you can’t, teach.”
